The error message in ul is caused by several reasons. Most are caused by;
Using icon with text and not entering any text.
Using xp icon selection and not specifying an icon.
Using a icon size that is not supported by the icon. typical sizes are 24, 36, 48, 64, 78.

Until file path is set, icon size, icon image "if using xp icons", text "if using icon with text, ultimate launch will display an error.

Has anyone experience with both UL and SPB Mobile Shell and might be able to compare and contrast the two "environments". I'm in the midst of a 15 day trial on Mobile Shell and like it but came across those of you here that LOVE UL.

I like Mobile Shell's form factor so far. Easy to use without the stylus. Seems well organized and simple to understand and set up. Seems less customizable but also easier to set up because of it.

UL seems SUPER customizable. So much that it looks like it'll take a while to make it "mine". I also seem to have trouble with my gestures to spin the menus and not invoke an icon within.

Anything I really NEED to know before I send money to one or the other? Thanks.

great icons.
slight problem I've had with mine. I cant change the icons. eveytime i go to my ico's or png's it just shows the same ico for all of them. stumped.

I am hoping that posting my question in this thread (as opposed to starting a new one) will still work well enough.

I love the program. But that's not a question.

I have been able to link to several "notepad" files successfully in UL and even give them little icons, but what I want to do is link to the location where I keep all my files...basically an "open folder" called NOTES.

I can't seem to do that.

I can make a link to "File Explorer" and that works well, but then when I use FE to find another program it won't link back to that same spot the next time.

Here is my GUESS: I should make a link to File Explorer, but I also need to edit the "Parameter" area so that it points directly to this area. My problem is that I have no idea how to "word" the parameter area so that it does this.

Any help?

Hey, I just noticed the thread that was above mine. I am currently using a Speed Dial program INSIDE of UL that works pretty well. It is a bit limited, but it works.

It is a downloaded hack from the Treo's. They just pulled out their Speed Dial ability.

The limitations are that you can only have 5 pictures up at at time. You can scroll over to get more, but the scroll bar is super tiny on mine. I just keep my five most important ones up.

But it is FREE and works INSIDE of UL just fine.

Where is the WIFI executable file in WM6? I found the Bluetooth file, but im trying to link an icon to the WIFI any help>??

Choose the XP icon choice and your icons have to be in .ico format (which is standard for Windows)

The one available from UL is good its called makecall.exe i think. You can just make your pictures you want to dial into icos and then put the number you want to dial as the parameter.

parameter field should look like "windows/start menu/programs/games" if you wanted it to open to your games folder.

dont like this program had to hard reset after it froze my phone, losing a couple numbers I had just got and didnt get a chance to sync to my laptop yet, and when i finally got it working the gestures didnt work on spb diary...

You probably didnt need to hard reset as people have had success getting to the uninstall screen before thier phone locks up or if you have a safe mode program you can use that. If you read this thread you will see the most likely causes, ways to avoid and ways to restore.

Some programs do not respond well to the gestures which is why there is the option to disable them for certain today plugins.

yeah this is by far the most amazing app i have used but it cant be stressed enuff times to make sure it is the only today plugin you have activated
