Re: SMS-Chat by Vito Technologies Threaded SMS

I would rather use 6.1, which has it integrated anyway.

New Vito SMS Chat v1.05 (Released 05/08/2008)

Yeah my fellow (and female ) PPCGeeks, the new and way improved version of SMS Chat has been released today, and trust me, you won't be disappointed. All of the former "problems" being discussed in our previous threads, (including the ability to customise notifications) have been addressed.
Great work VITO team !!!

http://vitotechnology.com/en/press/n...il.php?ID=2057

The new version of SMS-Chat presents a lot of improvements that make big sense for SMS chatting. The most distinctive option is the ability to switch off the onscreen alerts. This way you can hide the onscreen SMS notification and nobody will peek on your incoming message. Other new options include the ability to create and use your own templates for quick answers so that you can send answers immediately, the ability to open hyperlinks and dial phone numbers right from the message with a single tap, the ability to send your contacts' phone numbers. Now SMS-Chat uses the default folders for saving text messages, therefore most bugs have been fixed, like the problems with full screen notifications.
The new version of SMS-Chat supports black skin in HTC touch style. Other minor changes include:

*The notification window disappears when you tap the screen outside it.
*When clicking the cross icon the notification closes and message shows as unread in chat.
*Quick scroll has appeared for long chats.
*Clicking the name in the chat opens a contact details
*It is possible to minimize the application right from the chat.
*Dates in chats are shown the same way as in the WM system

The threaded texting in 6.1 is HIDEOUS.

Re: New Vito SMS Chat v1.05 (Released 05/08/2008)

i just saw this too today. I don't know if I should get it, I liked the previous version but it had minor things that bugged me, so I ended up switching back to the regular 6.1 threaded messaging. The animations lagged for me sometimes I guess (HTC Wizard).

Chaos, what do you think of the new version compared to the old one?

Re: New Vito SMS Chat v1.05 (Released 05/08/2008)

Hi
Think i may have preferred the other version. If it is not minimised, and you dont see the original notification then the windows notification is the only way of seeing message unless u opoen vito.
I have managed to get round this by creating a shortcut to Vito in the startup folder and changing the close button so it always minimise's vito instead of closing it. So this way it always opens vito when i use s2u2 to unlock phone instead of seeing the windows notification.
What do you guys think of it?

Re: New Vito SMS Chat v1.05 (Released 05/08/2008)

I might give this one a shot. The one major bug that I noticed with the old one is if a message came in and you did not respond to the on-screen message itself and another message came in, the new one would replace the old one and when you deleted the new one the old one was somehow gone as well.

Maybe I was doing something wrong, but it appeared to me that many of my messages were never read or even seen due to this.
