Re: SMS-Chat by Vito Technologies Threaded SMS

FYI. You can buy either the SMS-Chat or the FunContact for $7. I have learned the hard way because I bought them for $14 and $19.
No I dont work for them, just figured i would let people know cause i am a little ticked at the drop...

okay- tried the new version(1.01) and i must say now its a keeper. Ill take the shortcomings for a great, functional UI, and SMS chat really delivers on that aspect. The delay bug is fixed, id still like to see an option to disable the message pop-up- or at least to configure it where it doesnt take priority over the entire system. Either way it rocks

Re: SMS-Chat by Vito Technologies Threaded SMS

- there is still a bug that the LED still flashes amber even after reading all new messages.. it never clears the new message led notification.

- you can't click a link u get from a message (urls in messages aren't click-able). no copy&paste function either.

- no easy way to launch the app. htc home/today screen buttons do not get remapped to sms-chat app.

- no options to change the date format... i dunno about you but i find a date format as 22.02 (feb 22) rather awkward.

- no options to see message count. just shows a large list of messages..
it would be nice if there were indicators to see how many messages per contact on the main window, and number of messages sent/received per thread along with the date.

it would be nice if there were some options to this program.. nice app but i don't think i would buy it until i see most of these things i mentioned above fix/implemented.

Re: SMS-Chat by Vito Technologies Threaded SMS

- will be fixed

- will be added

- try GoodWin from www.iwindowsmobile.com/mobile-launcher.html . It has today plugin hat takes you directly to FunContact and SMS-Chat. If you make haste before February 26th - all applications at iwindowsmobile.com are only $7!

-possible addition, change

- why count messages: just cht away

since I'm guessing you work for vito tech. I think you should read this entire thread and change your app accordingly. Why count messages??? is that really even a real question? I dono, maybe because when I come back to my desk after a meeting I would like to be able to hit the screen on button and see that I have 5 new SMS instead of seeing absolutely nothing and having to open vitoSMS and click through a few names to find out if I have a new sms. And you need to add some options. Like the fact that the message just pops up on screen, even on top of every locking program out there. I dont like the fact that when I get a new SMS on my phone ANYONE could pick it up, read it, and then hit reply and be INTO my phone, bypassing the locking program. Thats a HUGE problem. This app is no where near ready to be sold as a full working app. Maybe a beta, but the open source non-for-profit solutions that we have are much better. I think you guys need to seriously listen to your potential customers and make some big changes before you come on here trying to sell your app.

Re: SMS-Chat by Vito Technologies Threaded SMS

There's always this guy who thinks he knows everything. Nobody is forcing you to buy SMS-Chat. The reason I came here is because I found this discussion on google and read it through carefully. I saw some good suggestions and we discuss them for implementing into future versions.
However, were I in your shoes ajk511 I would leave this patronizing tone: "maybe a beta". I hear VITO customers in the first place and only then turn to snobish, mister-KNOW-Everything advices who prefer open source software. In the meantime "maybe a beta" has already become a choice of over thousand of customers who contribute greatly to its further improvement and who will benefit from this since updates and support are free for a year since purchase date.

PS we, guys (and me in particular) do "seriously listen to our potential customers" and always ready for "some big chanhes"

I have to agree with Konstantink on this one. You are being quite a douche to him for just checking in and letting us know what they are working on. Nobody is forcing you to buy or even try this application. Obviously you are entitled to your opinion, but maybe being a bit more professional would cause people to actually take you seriously instead of just writing you off. I don't mean to get in the middle of this, but just thought I'd stick up for Konstantink so he's not on his own.

On another note, does anyone know how to get the SMS button in PointUI to open SMS-Chat? I hate having to go to my phone's "desktop" to open the start menu to open sms-chat.
