My co-worker just purchased the Motorola Q9c from Sprint today.

Sprint TV built-in, and works!

One problem, can't get him to let go of his new phone for more than a few seconds.

The Q9 should usealmost the same system that the Mogul uses. it functions on WM.. And it works, sohow is it a network connection problem? Also, doesn't JAVA connect to the same Power Vision network that the Mogul does, just in a different way. If it was a network problem, everyone would be having problems and not just some of us. The 7000 problem has to be something else.

The JAVA based app may function completely differently. You are correct when you say "Same Network" but there are still other variables which make them apples and oranges.

Here is also a very large difference, the Q9 just like the touch is an approved device, the Mogul is currently not.

So no, not everyone is going to have the same issues just as not everyone sees the 7000 error on the same channel at the same time.

I am not speculating when i say this, It was directly explained to me that the 7000 error is a temp unavailable error and more like a web 404, for whatever reason the channel stream cannot connect. Perhaps you took my "network" comment too literally and i should have said specifically "bandwidth".

I realize many of the posts here are pure speculation, fortunately i was able to get some accurate feedback directly from people i do business with at Sprint.

Well, I figured the 7000 problem out, on my Mogul at least. Sprint TV is now working on my phone. Before my last post, I tried everything to get it to work but I still kept getting the dreaded 7000 error. Unistalled, reinstalled, redid cache, soft reset, etc. So after my last post, I went back and read some of the other posts and the ROM version came up a few times... This is what I did to get mine working and I hope that this will work for more people....

I checked to see what ROM version I had (Start/Settings/System Tab/Device Information). I found that I had 2.09.

So I went to http://www.america.htc.com/support/mogul/software-downloads.html and here I found the download for the newest ROM 2.17. (Plus a nice announcement on a new rom that they are working on that will enable EV-DO Rev. A and GPS capabilities on the Mogul)

I downloaded the ROM update file and then opened the instruction page.

WARNING!!! MAKE SURE THAT YOU BACK UP EVERYTHING ON YOUR PHONE THAT YOU WANT TO KEEP THAT WAS NOT ORIGINALLY THERE BECAUSE THE ROM UPDATE WILL ERASE IT!!!

Just follow the instructions and you should do fine.. Make sure not to disconnect the phone or do anything with it during the update until it is complete. If so, you could risk messing up the phone.

There is a few updates that are cool with this ROM.

After the update was complete, I copied the Sprint TV cab, the pocket RAR cab, and the RAR'd cache files to my Personal folder in My Documents. I then installed the RAR software and extracted the cache folder to the same Personal folder. Now I installed Sprint TV and then started it up and let it get to the opening menu. I then exited out of the program and opened file explorer and went to the Program Files/Sprint TV folder and deleted the cache folder that was in there. Now the only files that should be in the Sprint TV folder are the SprintTV program file (83.5k) and another SprintTV file (1.10k). Now I navigated file explorer to the Personal folder in My Documents where I copied everything to. I then COPIED the cache folder that I extracted earlier. I navigated back to the Sprint TV folder and pasted the cache folder into it.

Now I restarted Sprint TV and came up with channel listings but still got the dreaded 7000 error.. Then I exited out of everything and soft reset my Mogul (like I did many times on the old ROM).. It restarted and I then opened Sprint TV and got channel listings just like before.. I tried to open a channel and watch it and it worked!!! Now my Sprint TV is working, just like on my wife's Upstage.. All the channels that are available with the Power Vision pack are black and the ones that need a subscription are highlighted in blue..

I hope that this little walkthrough of what I did helps.. Just remember, please do not attempt to update your ROM unless you absolutely know what you are doing.. Don't mess up your phone!!!

I want to use Sprint TV pretty badly and I just don't understand why Sprint doesn't make this available for the Mogul? Why do we need to hack into this application in order to use it? Regardless, I've tried using sprint TV preloaded on ROMs and i've tried this Method from this post, the NFO file obviously isn't working anymore so my QUESTION IS... Does Sprint TV using these files any longer work or am I just wasting my time trying? Or is there another method that i'm not aware of? Thanks!

I would imagine the SprintTV will be inclued in the next ROM update. Its not hard to do since some of the new devices out now (Moto QC, Treo, Blackberry) have it. I would just wait.

I think I posted this before, but I'm not sure. This is what I do and it works. I'm not saying this will work for everyone:

1. Soft reset the device. After booting up Unrar the cache folder onto you storage card.
2. open SprintTV. *DO NOT CLOSE SPRINT TV! It can stay open in the background.
3. While SprintTV is open, click the start menu and go to Resco Expl. (or whatever you use) and copy the cache folder from your card to the SprintTV folder on your device. (it may ask you to overwrite existing files. DO IT!)
4. Use the start menu or MRU menu to reopen SprintTV.

This may or may not work. It has work for me, but I may have other programs on my device that may be helpsing SprintV and I dont know it.
