I haven't touched the alarm yet but it will not resolve the BT issue - tried -within a minute I got - "I can't understand a word you are saying" same BT headset I use with other phones - no issues.

Things I can tell you about the new firmware from Colonel -
It works great
It has a ton of new features and software.

It seems to take a bit longer to boot but that may well be my imagination.
It only prompted me for some options on the software - probably because as he states this is a rough build.

Things I hope he adds (and he probably is already working on - - said there will be more options to come)
SPB pocket plus
WifiFofum
A full version of the vjcandela or an app in the 6800 forum called flashlight
VXutil

Thanks a million boe. i am running on ImCoKeMaN version. it don't fix BT issue completely but better than sprint original version. alarm bug is still there and also having a wake up issue. when BT is connected and phone goes to sleep, it will not wake up. i'll have to softboot it. i guess i'll wait a bit more.

for the new release, read the readme. Just plug in phone and run the .exe.

Just flashed to Oct 21 rom and I gotta wonder why in the heck are people even waiting on the alleged new rom release from Sprint?
It's obvious they could not even program the basic functionality of the phone to be as productive as other carriers...
New ROM is very stable Colonel, thanks and great job

But the same BT bug with the Alltel rom is most likely still there. BT on with a headset connected and you power the phone down. Then if you try to power it back on a few min later the phone is locked, the LCD wont turn on and you need to soft reset via the reset hole. This is a huge problem with the Alltel core. If this is in fact resolved then I would try this rom.

Well, it is more than the alltel core because I am not using anything from the Alltel rom really.

What we need to do is get a good set of repeatable errors that can be tested over and over. I say this because I do not see these same errors you guys do. Or, at least I am not seeing them in the vast numbers you do.

hey inside the task manager I have a process named "Idle Process" that doesn't show up on the list of apps to kill but shows under the cpu usage list. this process is taking up 80 to 90 percent cpu at all times..makes scrolling in pie soo sluggish..is this normal? how can I kill it if its not in the list of apps to kill?
ya know its no wonder my battery won't last more than 6 hours anf touchflo is unusable in this state. im not blaming colonels rom but I am running it. dunno if the same thing was happening on the stock rom cause I didn't have the cool task manager that this rom has.
