Re: Official WinMo 6.5 RC1 is out!

Is this rom carrier specific? When I looked at the 21501_Beta_1.0.txt it said the carrier was Verizon. Is this okay to use with sprint?

It's from Verizon. You should run one of DCD's carrier cabs to set things straight.

Re: Official WinMo 6.5 RC1 is out!

My Review:

This ROM is much more refined than the previous betas. No doubt about that. Much more stable too. Seems like everything works alright. Still have to test aGPS. It's nice to test this new interface. I hope WM7 is more intuitive. That's it. Worth a try.

Re: Official WinMo 6.5 RC1 is out!

aGPS works great. It took me about 10 minutes (because my quickGPS is a failcopter) to get my signal but when i did it was near perfect performance. So great that I'm selling my standalone TomTom bc the update intervals are 10x slower than my phone!

Re: Official WinMo 6.5 RC1 is out!

For some reason this rom is extremely slow for me. Like unusable slow. It's so pretty but it takes like 5 minutes to get to the start menu...

Slow this rom is not. Did you install anything else or is it bare. Did you do a hard reset? Maybe it could be something else installed??

As far as the memory leak I have none. Been running since release and this morning I have 20.99 mb. I did a soft reset yesterday morning around 9.00.

I edited the post above this for the comm. manager fix.

Re: Official WinMo 6.5 RC1 is out!

I've had a small memory leak every once in a while.

Try using Oxios Memory and CloseApps, run both programs every once in a while. They work the best for me and usually free up anywhere from 500kb~3MB.

Re: Official WinMo 6.5 RC1 is out!

SO if i understand this (still learning about flashing, but properly flashed to 6.1 when it came out for mogul.), this ROM is ready to flash, and since mine is Sprint, i grabbed the carrier_sprint cab file i copied over already to my 8gig stick in advanced, and run it to convert it properly to Sprint? Want to make sure before i screw things up. Thanks guys!!

Did you flash to 6.1 when the update came out from htc.
If you did then it still has the incorrect bootloader. To make sure enter bootloader and see which it has. Needs to be 2.47 or 2.40
If it is not one of the ones listed then you need to unlock you phone first with the correct bootloader.
If it is one of the ones listed then yes the rom this post refers to is ready for flashing. After flashing do a hard reset and then when it boots up install the carrier cab you have service with.
