can't you just goto the sound / notifications tab under settings and change the setting for text messages?

Rob is right. Go to there and uncheck the Notification box.

I've been having this thing crash a lot.. Not sure if it's winblowz killing apps but even with 20+ mb free it will crash all the time.. even from just something as simple as a txt message... you guys see that too?

I've been using it for a while now with no issues at all. Although the weather tab's city database doesn't contain my city by default, besides that, everything else worked right out of the box. I'm using the version from the ppckitchen.org kitchen built right into my 20748 ROM.

I'm on stock rom and it does close other apps from time to time. I usually can only have like 2 apps running at the same time, a big one and a small one. Anything more and it'll close one of the two. Not to mention Manilla usually closes down if I have like let's say opera or skyfire open, though not all the time. But if I open up something else then it will shut down and I have to start it back up again after I close the RAM hog app.

I'm sure if I move to a custom rom it'll work much better which i'll probably move to doing next weekend.
