Sorry to hear that. We're almost always available in the chat rooms. If #ppcgeeks isn't working for you, try #ppckitchen (type /join #ppckitchen" while in chat to join #ppckitchen)

GA Medic, you might want to add a section on how to get help...after you've searched and read. And maybe a basic troubleshooting guide.

Re: Step by Step tutorial for unlocking your device and cooking your own ROM!!!

If you'll put it in rtf or help file format, I'll distribute it with the kitchen.

I'm thinking about making a special popup for first time users, if you want to make a very basic device specific guide.

Re: Step by Step tutorial for unlocking your device and cooking your own ROM!!!

I dont know how to save in either of those formats. If you will explain to me how to do that, I will try tomorrow. As far as the device specific deal , I have only flashed the Apache and Titan devices so I don't know how to do the others. What do you think of this tutorial. It is a bit more in depth than my last on on the Apache. It took me about 5 hours to make. I posted another for the Apache forum as well. It has been a long ime since I flashed an Apache so feel free to make any corrections to it.

Re: Step by Step tutorial for unlocking your device and cooking your own ROM!!!

I've read the thread on cooking the rom, had no problem doing that.
I've read the thread on unlocking my mogul, had problems with that. Using nue2chems nueSPL but it locks up, so I downloaded the exitbootloader to help solve this problem. However, it doesn't seem like my mogul ever gets unlocked. When I finished checking off all of my selections for the rom in the kitchen, it proceeded to flash the new rom, all went fine until it got to the 3 colors screen and had usb at the bottom and it just sits there. then i get a msg on my laptop saying there was an error loading the rom and it tries to help me fix the problem, but it just brings me back to the same 3 colors screen and locks up.
Luckily I can just soft reset and my phone goes back to normal (stuck at stock since Im in the process of flashing to nueROM) so I can still use my phone, but I don't know how to tell if my mogul is unlocked.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

EDIT: when i use the nueSPL2.47 it locks up in the 3 colors screen and says TITA100 SPL-2.07no2chem titan spl evt cpld-9. but it just locks up at this screen. so i run the titan_exitbl and it boots up my phone like normal. then when i try to flash the new rom it just locks up in the 3 colors screen.
I've seen so many people with similar problems as me yet none of their solutions have worked in my case

EDIT2: I just realized, my SD card is only 32MB it was all I could find laying around my house, I had a 512mb, 1gig, and 2gig cant seem to find any of them, about to go get an 8gig but from the posts I've read it has to be 2gig or less. So dumb question, is the 32mb card too small and is that why nueSPL won't finish?

Re: Step by Step tutorial for unlocking your device and cooking your own ROM!!!

Just a quick question. Has anyone used the autorun feature in the kitchen, and should you allow the the cabs that are in the ext rom to run at bootup? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Step by Step tutorial for unlocking your device and cooking your own ROM!!!

so here is another one of those noobie questions. i have read this entire thread an search the forums but still have some doubts. sorry in advance an thanks in advance.

my phone is threw sprint, htc touch (vogue). i upgraded to the wm 6.1. the ROM version is 3.03.651.4 an the radio version is 3.42.30 the computer i use is windows vista. i tried upgrading to the 6.1 myself but had problems keeping it connected to activesync(always disconnect an cancel download), so i took it to the sprint store to upgrade.

when u say connect to a USB port for flashing an not a USB HUB? explain. i have 3 places to connect to. whats what. i do have the memory card and an adapter.

u say download an install .net framework v.2.0, on PC or PPC? i have .net cf 3.5 on my PPC. (guessing PC? an this is for the unlocking process or no?)

i was going to use nueSPL2.47 threw the sd card cuz it sounded easy, will that work for my phone? i know it would have to be renamed but to what for the vogue? (ok so i found the link for unlocking the vogue, sorry; http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=20370)

so say i got threw the process of unlocking my phone, the next step is the radio, but i believe i have the right #s already (3.42.30). so do i skip the whole part of putting the phone back into bootloader to set up the radio? if thats the case were do i go from unlocking to adding the custom ROM.

i was thinking about using WDM's Diamond themed ROM. http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=36924

ok jus wanted to say sorry agian cuz as i was writing this post i answered sum of my questions, an if this is in the wrong thread my apoligize to all u, thanks for n e feed back or points in a right direction.

Well I wont cover the ones GaMedic answered

nueSPL2.47 will not work on the Vogue, it's only for the Titan (i see you already found the ImCoKeMaN unlocker thread

since you already have 3.X Radio (3.42.30) then No! You do not need to mess w/ radio flash... any instructions in tutorial(s) reference the radio upgrade as it is required to be 3.X Radio for GPS 3.X ROMS (and can be skipped) - make sure you got 2.31 bootloader and you can flash custom ROM of your choice from bootloader mode
