First flash failed on running PPST.exe because Tomtom's installer on my MicroSD card attempted to run at the same time. I strongly advise removing your microSD card before flashing. Something that just slipped my mind as I ran it.

So go figure, today the battery performance was exactly as I expected it to be. So I got to thinking about it some this evening... I think it has to do with the fact that the Pittsburgh area has really lousy Sprint coverage and since I hadn't yet done the registry tweaks to enable roaming, I was still on Automatic. Since the phone was staying in Sprint EVDO mode with low coverage, it was probably trying to sync up all my mail accounts unsuccessfully and just kept trying on my drive home to Youngstown (coverage here is great in most areas, btw).
Anyway, I'll continue to post updates for my own situation as needed, but I don't see any reason for people to avoid upgrading. This is definitely the best ROM update and will hopefully tide me over until the release of the Touch Pro.

Oh, and I cannot change the backlight brightness. This is all very strange. Last edited by golfpointe; 07-21-2008 at 11:23 PM. |

Well I have to say I'm a noob to the forum but in all respects this ROM has been good to me. No significant memory leaks and overall works well. GPS and Sprint Navigation work well. I have no use for Sprint TV but hey then personal preferences are exactly that. It seems to play nice with SBP Plus, Total Commander and Pocket Mechanic Pro (these are the only 3rd party apps I need.) It took a while to do the UG, hung at 11% but left alone for a while it installed.
Advice, for what it's worth... 1. Before attempting the UG hard reset your 6800 to a stock ROM 2. Run the UG 3. After the UG let the PPC boot and allow the Sprint Customizations to run 4 Do a Hard Reboot after the PPC has re-loaded and at this point you can chose to install the Sprint stuff or not (soft reset before they run.) 5. Enjoy! Hope this helped! PS The Hard Reset after the UG load and Sprint Customizations resolved many problems for me, hope it does the same for you! |
