Re: Offical Sprint 3.56 MOGUL 6.1 Rom is now posted at HTC.com

On the one hand, performance and responsiveness are better than previous ROM updates, and I've consistently had an extra signal bar everywhere I've been (Pittsburgh area and Youngstown area). I have run into no compatibility issues with any of the apps I use (I'll list them below), and I'm still hovering at the 10-15MB of RAM free.

On the other hand, under 3.35, I was able to take my phone off the charger at 7:20am every morning on my way out the door to work and put it back on the charger around 11:00pm as I went to bed. Doing this I would drop to approximately 60% battery life.

Since updating to 3.56, I am like many others having a faster battery drain. Specifically, today I took it off the charger at 10:00am and it's 9:00pm but I'm down to 42%. I am using an identical setup including the same registry tweaks and program installs, and usage is about the same as any other day (ie. a few 5 minute calls, a handful of web pages and text messages, and email syncs set at 60 minutes).

That said, I would prefer to have better battery life, so if it doesn't miraculously improve over the next couple days or unless HTC releases a slightly newer build tomorrow, I'll be reverting back to 3.35.

Incidentally, here's the list of apps installed that I can confirm are working as expected:
acbToggleBT
Google Maps
HTC Comm Manager (6-button, updated based on 3.56 files)
HTC Touch Dialer
Microsoft .NET Compact Framework 3.5
no2chem Battery.dll, nueAudio, nueExtRom, and nueFonts
Palringo
PCM Keyboard .14
PHM RegEdit
Remote Desktop 6.1
S2U2 1.05
SipChange
SKTools
sMMS
Spb Mobile Shell 2.1, Phone Suite 1.3, and Pocket Plus 4.0.2
Spb Watcher
Sprint TV
Windows Live Mobile
Windows Live Search
YouTube Player

The only problems seem to be battery life and a handful of specific app versions not working with WM6.1. Take a moment to search for the updated versions of all your apps, and you'll be fine. I've already seen a few posts in this thread linking to the newest version of TCPMP that works well.

Re: Offical Sprint 3.56 MOGUL 6.1 Rom is now posted at HTC.com

With the 'test' ROMs (3.49), I wasn't able to sync my calendar or contacts with my exchange server -- got some wierd error. This was a known MS problem that originated with the formating of a few contacts.

I'm happy to report that this ROM fixed those issues, and all my syncing works as expected. I'll keep it for a while!

Thanks HTC!

Load this to the phone and play with the power management settings.....first try SD power management....try it enabled first and if it isn't any better try it disabled....you can also try disabling all of them and vice versa.....

hang on also and I will post something else that may help.....Mikee4fun posted it I have not tried but you might give it a shot....

Here ya go I found it....this is from the Nuerom 2.2 thread

Mikee4fun posted:

I changed the page pool to 6.5MB
Disabled poutlook.ink from startup
Disable znueHibernate.ink from startup

Services I disabled from startup are OBEX, CERTENROLL, SWMGMTSERVICE, SoftwareDisable, nueSlindingKB, nueDeviceLock, SMSRetry, PhoneExt, and Power.

Well besides battery life which was somewhat brutal today before I set the above settings I will report back tomorrow with what I get. I changed all Power management settings to enabled now and I will see what happens. I also set data to turn off after 15 min of inactivity.

Re: Offical Sprint 3.56 MOGUL 6.1 Rom is now posted at HTC.com

Since upgrading to 3.56 I've noticed that I no longer have the battery level icon on the top-docking area next to the clock, I can't seem to get that back, and in the Power Settings controls I can no longer set the screen brightness levels to save battery live when not plugged into a power source. Has anyone else encountered that?

Thanks for the tips, although I don't entirely trust Schap's tool after earlier versions prevented me from answering calls. I prefer to make my own registry adjustments or at least know precisely what a program modifies.

I'm very uncomfortable with the fact that HTC would release an update that disabled certain power management elements... what else was left out?Truth is, I still believe cj is right that today is the official release, so we may very well see a newer build.

3.56 is up on their site AGAIN

and it has a different date code, instead of the pre-release of 0619, this one has 0718...at least i assume and think that is a date code

and it is approx. a half of a meg lighter....
0619 is 64.4 mb and this one is 63.9 mb
