Re: nueSPL-2.47

So a friend of mine brought his mogul to me to upgrade it.

He had a stock Mogul from lord knows when, pre-gps days. These are the steps I took to bring it up to date. I hope it helps everyone.

First and foremost he was already hooked up to an exchange server so all his contacts were synced. He already had a 1GB microSD. Basically the backup was quick and simple.

1.) Ran a Sprint ROM RUU_TITAN_SPRINT_WWE_3.56.651.0_RS_3.42.02_SPCS2.0 4_PPST_0619_Ship.exe ( you can find it in the forums)

The interesting part of this procedure was that it got stuck at 11%. I noticed, prior to the upgrade the SPL as at 1. something. When the update got stuck, it was in the bootloader mode and the SPL was 2. something. After waiting for about 10 minutes, I disconnected the phone and restarted my computer. I deleted my temp directory in windows, and started the update again. The update continued from 11%.

After the update, customizations ran, and the phone was up and running w/sprints bloatware. Because there was a Radio upgrade involved, the phone lost it's MSID/MDN settings. A quick call to sprint (told them I did a hard reset and needed to reactivate the phone) fixed the problem.

2.) Ran NueSPL withing a problem!

3.) I did a ROM update to nueROM 2.2-5719-pre7.rar. I also changed the pagepool upto 8MB as this guy doesn't use anything like HTC or SPB Mobile Shell. As usual, had to remove the battery, and a hard reset. Used his exchange server to resync his phone and we were up and running.

Overall, it was a good experience. Scared the heck out of my friend. Worried me, because I started everything on my phone with the preGPS days. (Olipro SPL and what not.)

nueSPL-2.47 problem

No2chem,

Ok, hear me out, this will make sense and be relevant in a sec.

So 1.20 won't update back to 2.40 after downgrading to test an older radio (3.39), not sure why but it recognizes my phone in activesync with DCD 3.2.2 loaded fine, goes through the cmd window ok, but has an error in the RUU stating that there is a problem with the connection.

The only thing that I can think of is that one time I began the nueSPL update but did not finish as the card that was in was a sdhc so I cancelled out before it asked me to commit. Not sure why that would have been a problem as it didn't complete the flash and never showed the bootloader at 2.47, it has always been 2.40.

Any thoughts on how to clean up the bootloader?

Should I go ahead to nueSPL 2.47 (FYI I am on Verizon)?

Not really worried at this point, but would like to get at least 2.40 back on the phone for the next ROM/Radio upgrade. This could be why 3.39 wasn't flashing right via sd method, right? It would go into bootloader and then say serial (FYI - It was charged, formatted via cmd "format H: /FS:FAT32 /A:1024", and renamed correctly TITAIMG.nbh without double .nbh extension).

P.S. I also posted this on XDA.

Re: nueSPL-2.47

So i tried using nueSPL. Copied the program to my device, put in formatted (32 meg) card, got all checks on first screen. When I hit continue, it got to the bootloader screen and said 2.07 No2Chem Titan....(yes, 2.07) and just sat there. I let it sit for 2 minutes, then hit reset and device restarted. hit cam-power and reset, and am still at 2.07 bootloader. Any ideas? I am running the moste recent ROM (leaked) from sprint. Mogul.

This upgrade took me about 30 tries and 4 different microSD cards (brands and sizes). What finally did the trick for me was I upgraded to Olipro 2.40 first (which took 4 tries in and of itself and got me stuck in bootloader mode). Once I got out of that, two tries later with nueSPL 2.47 and it worked like a charm.

Just stick with it, and it's bound to happen. Don't let the device get the best of you......

Re: nueSPL-2.47

Ok, thanks for the encouragement. Just get nervous with all the "bricking" talk. Rite now i only have the one micro card, but have another on the way in a few days. Why is it so touchy? makes no sense to me. Not like it is a muscle that you can work out for a while LOL, just an electronic device.

Re: nueSPL-2.47

ok i tried to get this going and ended up staring at the colored boot screen with spl-2.40 Olipro on it. i have tried to flash the verizon stock firmware to it, same situation. tried the sprint self executing rom and it stops at @8% and gives me an error that it cant continue on my device (error 328 invalid command).

Re: nueSPL-2.47

Yeah from the bootloader screen (colorful, mine said olipro 2.40 from previous flash) I hit space on my keyboard which brought up a screen that said hit the power button to begin flash. Let the flash run shouldn't take long at all then restart.
