i'm pretty sure changing the radio from a gps to non gps is the cause of the bricking. the bootloader has nothing to do with it.

Re: nueSPL-2.47

Already successfully ran it (from a 2GB card I always use for my flashing). Anything else this SPL addresses besides being able to lock/unlock straight from the phone?

Re: nueSPL-2.47

Program ran flawlessly on xv-6800 except when the screen goes blank, I can never get it to respond to the power button, and it won't active sync or receive calls. If I do a reset, it reboots and works fine activesync and all. I just can't let the screen go blank or it will lock up and never come back.

This SPL is not necessarily better than Olipro-2.40, however it is off a newer version of the SPL, Olipro-2.40 is from a SPL in September, this one is from a SPL in Feb. Because it is not MFG, it lacks some commands in bootloader.

DO NOT USE with a NON GPS RADIO (2.xx). Only use with GPS RADIOS (3.xx). A version check will be added soon.

To use, you need to copy the SPL update to your device and run it. It is intended to be run from the device, not the computer. Please see the included PDF instructions for complete details, and be sure to READ them before running the update.

Thanks to the testers - colonel00, astainhellbring, lennysh and mromblad for helping test and diagnose problems. Thanks to cmonex and olipro for advice and direction and fixing the SPL. Thanks to pof for JumpSPL.

Find the spl here:

No2chem, I asked this in the Re-locker thread, but it really should be in this thread.

Should those of us WITHOUT an Official ROM update release from our Carrier use this update? The reason is that our stock bootloader is 1.x and our stock radio is non-GPS..... Is this a correct statement???

its fine to use this to unlock and flash to a gps rom from a non gps rom.
you cannot keep or flash a non gps rom once you have unlocked AND you cannot relock and flash back to a non gps rom.

1.xx (non gps) radios are not compatible with this bootloader.
once you flash a 3.xx radio you cannot flash back to a 1.xx radio even if you relock to a stock bootloader without risking a brick (not 100% but risky).

Re: nueSPL-2.47

OK, so this boot loader will rid me of the Vista problems. Great for kitchen RRU's. but, does not effect SD card flashing, it still works the same, correct?

This is a great improvement! Thanks to all.

Now on to no2chem 5070 can't wait!

once you flash a 3.xx radio you cannot flash back to a 1.xx radio even if you relock to a stock bootloader without risking a brick (not 100% but risky).

So from a Non-GPS stock radio and ROM, the following is possible all performed without a PC from a properly prepped SD card?

1. Flash the SPL-2.47 by running the .exe from anywhere on the device or card(?).
2. Flash an updated 3.xx radio (is it necessary to avoid trying to operate the device before the radio update?) as a TITAIMG.nbh file in root of card. (Not sure if this is essential or just recommended. Is the brick risk only if downgrading?)
3. Flash to whatever GPS ROM floats your boat as a TITAIMG.nbh file in root of card.

Would appreciate any corrections, clarification, or stamp of approval.

At any rate, this whole proceedure has advanced to a state of simplicity and coolness that boggles the mind!

No2Chem: Thanks for what you have done and are continuing to do. Truly impressive!

Is there any way to flash this without the sd cards? I have 2 cards that work for everything else I'm not going to buy another one

Zen - just copy the contents of the card to your desktop, use it, then copy it all back....
