Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

To all the guys that have upgraded from a stock USCC phone... would anybody be available later this week to chat if I have a problem? I have been reading a lot, but want to make sure this goes smooth and that I have not forgotten anything...

Thanks

Yea I am if you want to ask ?'s Just PM me through the forum.

I Just updated to the 20273 ROM after trying DCD's Rom. DCD's ROM's are good but I did not like how they were Pre-setup.

Any way just been running the 20273 just for 1 day so far and it seems to work allot better than the 5067 that I was just running before.

I also am running radio 3.42.50.

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

The big thing was that for some reason I lost the ability to send files to my phone via bluetooth or infrared with the 5067.

So after a week of trying the 5067 thinking it was the apps I put on the phone I did a blank 5067 flash and still no receive function that is when I went to DCD's ROM.

And it worked again. So I tried DCD's rom for a few days but didn't really care for it.

So here I am with the 20273 flashed to it and it is wonderful.

Re: Uscc 6800 Gps, Custom Roms, Downgrading Guide

Ok.. im attempting this procedure but ihave a big problem right off..
I run the first program, and i get the little rainbow thing on my pocket pc. the boot loader i think. anyways, it says to disconnect the pocket pc, so i pull the usb cord from it, and then plug it back in. but, after that, i can no longer connect activesync to it. I can unplug the usb from the phone and back, the bootloader goes from "serial" to "usb" but it willNOT connect to activesync, its like it's locked up. Am i forgetting something? please help!

RANT!!:
Is it POSSIBLE for me to somehow RESTORE all my customizations that I had PRIOR to the ROM flash? I used SPB BACKUP to back up my entire flash storage. I spent a LOT of time customizing things and would really like a way to simply RESTORE everything that got wiped in the flash as far as my customizations go. VERY frustrating spending so much time customizing my phone then have it all wiped if I want to upgrade the rom and have to manually do it all over again!!!
Now as for radios and ROM versions there are differences...... Big differences. Basically the higher the ROM or Radio version the more of the bugs/glitches have been worked out.

You will be starting out on the lowest radio available enable GPS on the phone. After you get the initial flash done you can alway upgrade the radio real easy with out having to re customize the phone after a radio flash.

As for customizing it there really is no way of saving a previous customizing after each ROM flash.

Just plug it in and let your machine find the phone as a plain USB device. When the phone is in the Rainbow screen active synch is no good. After the phone is detected again follow the directions from there.

Seems to me then that there is a need for some type of backup/restore software just for customizations, for example, to backup and restore program settings for individual programs and other things that you can customize.

But alas I have no coding skillz

This happened to me too. Now however, after I tried a few suggestions here, my phone still has the 3 color screen and says:
TITA100
SPL-1.07.0000
CPLD-9

I can't get any further than this. Should I flash with a stock rom (if so, how?) or what else can I do? I get an Error 264: Connection and then it says Titan_Radio_3.35.04.exe unable to locate component, This app failed because connAPI.dll was not found.

The device is recognized with USB, but not activesync. What should I do now?

Thanks,
Pete
