the date/time hack in the taskbar, and the font settings, they looked off in the official kitchen, but looked fine in 5060. i know you can get the date/time hack from the old basekit, just extract the OEM for it, but I didn't feel like it, and I had more RAM free, even with a pagepool of 5, so I just stuck with that. and i was asking the question here because it USED to work with the old basekit, then when the new updates came out, it stopped working, thus I made the connection that the new updates must have broken something, thus am posting it here.

oh yeah, and I dont like the muppet icon next to user info. but i didn't feel like looking up how to go back to the regular one.

If he had done that with a rom that he had ported on his own this wouldnt have been an issue. Now, if you cant see the differences, I am sorry. People continue to have this fanboy attitude towards things they know very little about.
Actually, I wasn't. Luv2Chill freaked out after I released my variant on Helmi's kitchen (which the readme clearly declared as such) and chastised me for not asking permission so they could tell me no. When it became clear that I was not allowed to do the same thing JBabey did before me and Dogguy did later, I pulled the kitchen voluntarily and did not rerelease it ever again.

Why were the rules different for me? I don't know. I know Helmi's complaints with JBabey were much the same as his complaints with me, but I was punished much more severely. It could have been because of my higher visibility, that people were more likely to try and trust a kitchen with my name on it.

But the history as paynej lays it out is mostly correct. I used to be respected around here, I sinned against the ROM gods and I've been paying for it ever since. And now that I point out that their attitude is, for the most part, arrogant, condescending and hostile to anyone not as geeky as they are, I'm flamed again. As a former developer myself, I understand the way ego and ownership can affect the way programmers behave. It's a shame this project is driven more by personality and self-aggrandizement than a desire to help people that couldn't have figured this out on their own.

It is not normal for a kitchen to require the battery to be pulled. It is necessary in this case because the overall partition structure was modified.
i've noticed this happens to me a lot too; that text file ends up behind everything else so you might not notice it until you close buildos or if you happen to be paying attention to your taskbar and see it there.
Not sure you can control that though.

no, it did not pop up. this was a fresh install of the kitchen. i partitioned my computer last week and had to re load everything that i had. i know that i had the lastest and greatest. the only thing i may have done was after hitting the "update", i only selected the Titan_No2Chem_5060_WM6.1. once the i ran into the boot problem i read through the thread and thought maybe the internet sharing thing was included in a different package so i updated agian and downloaded/installed everything.

anyhow, good to go now.

EFOpenError: Cannot open file D:\Documents and Settings\daniel.DAN\Application Data\hIq Inc\PPC-BuildOS\9.05.2.6Temp\temp\dump\.ROM\\S4294967295

this happens using all three basekits.

There are now 16 posts in this thread already on your issue which don't belong here.

That goes for anyone else who is off topic from this point. If it doesn't have to do with the updater version of 5060, take it elsewhere... like private messages for personal issues. Defeats the purpose of threads.

Like I said, history around here is written by the mods... Anyone can use the search function for "kirvin" here on PPCGEEKS and can read for themselves what happened. That is if it hasn't been erased. And if that is the case; they'll clearly know by the inability to even find either side of the story.

I was there when it happened (lurking like I do now); and I was one of the people who were criticized when I spoke up on your behalf (and there were quite a few of us).

The kitchen you released has the exact same look and feel of *EVERY KITCHEN* ever released before or after - until GG did his magnificent new BuildOS. Yet your particular varient was the only one that was ever singled out and attacked for "not asking permission".

In the "real" world (you know - the one were you collect a paycheck); your position in your field is defined by your experience. So statements like "I've been in IT for 17 years" are not only fundamentally neccessary; but respected as well. Here (in "over the rainbow" land), they are met with disregard and slanderous statements saying you are a "$40 a hour tech being p***** off as a $120 an hour tech". In the real world; such a statement in the public workplace can (and should) get you fired. Hell, there are even some legal liabilities in making such unqualified statements (he doesn't know you or your work - so what qualifies him to pass judgement on your professional performance?) Here, you make such statements and your "rep" amongst the locals gets boosted.

Two, I have the Device Lock installed since I wasn't happy with S2U2's memory usage, but I noticed that FTouchFlo Gestures still function to open their respective Apps. Of course, they immediately become un-usable due to Lock being on. Is this considered a bug? I don't see much harm in them being opened, but figure it's mostly just a minor annoyance. Thanks to all and I gladly threw a little cash y'alls way to keep the fun coming.
i didnt include S2U2, just set my HTC Home Plugin up to have the device lock feature easily accessible - and I noticed as well that the FTcouhFlo Gestures still function even when the device is locked. I even added "keylock" to the excluded list and soft reset. Maybe it just can't be prevented from happening, or maybe i didn't find the correct exe....
