3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

Yay for new updates.

Actually, boo for it's battery performance on my phone.

I full charged my phone last night, woke up, put it in my pocket at 7:00AM, and went to school. On the way home (3:30PM, no use between that time), I turned it on to make a call, and about 30 seconds into the call, it ended, and the radio turned off. I have lowest backlight, wifi off, no bluetooth, no gps running... I'm using s2u2 and I have it set to turn off if the screen isnt unlocked after 10 secs.

I plugged in my phone and let it fully charge when I got home. I did a soft reset, checked the battery percentage at 6:00PM to make sure it was full, and I went out for dinner. I got home at about 8:30, and I'm down to 20%.

What gives?

Yes, I have already hard reset. Still seems to be eating battery like a horse.

GPS maybe?

My battery is not better or worse, since the update but to be honest I reinstalled all of the power-saving reg tweaks and I'm on the 3200mAh high.

I am seeing this on no2chem 5053 build. I'll take it off the charger and less than a half hour later it'll drop to around 90 percent. Then it stayed at 73% today for a few hours. Weird stuff.

The GPS function will destroy the battery, but I have noticed this behavior with nothing running.

Thats absolute rubbish and I am tired of people blaming GPS on this battery problem. If its GPS then why was I getting 48 hours out of my phone with the leaked ROM and with this ROM I get about 12 hours with exact same programs and generally same usage?

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I've been tinkering a bit with my phone, and somehow managed to get crappy battery life (as in 6 hours with no usage). I've noticed that during the time that it gets "eaten away" the data indicator in the signal indicator (the two arrows) are on, instead of the "antenna". I've been playing with it to try to get it to stop, but it isnt. I can't stop it with holding the end key, or choosing disconnect on the evdo icon. I'm still not sure what program is causing the problem. Just a thought for others who might be having battery issues. (i may have found the problem just now, but i wont know for sure for a bit longer)

Earlier in this thread (first page perhaps), someone mentioned a situation where the data connection was not releasing. He provided information on what one would need to do. Did you see the posting?

Yeah, and forgot about it (i open multiple tabs when i surf, so sometimes i forget why i open certain posts).

Edit: Part of it is seeing WHAT is trying to access the data so i know. I like to know things.
Need to find something to tell me whats accessing it. bleh.
