Re: No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) Thread

Ok after 10 mins of searching google...nope no easy way to change it. Have to do it from the ROM, although it does look like someone has a tool to change it in the nbh file easily. I *think* it was 6MB before? Don't quote me on that though...

Re: No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) Thread

I updated to 5050 this morning. Flashed, did the battery thing, hard-reset, and let the UC sd card app install my apps (Ultimate Launcher, MSVC1.6, a custom dialer, icontact, and a theme). With my DCD rom I had 21.5MB after boot. With 5050 I have 20.8 after boot. Not too shabby considering I shaved a few things out of the DCD kitchen and 5050 still has everything in it. My performance was very, very slow at first, but now it seems to be back to full speed. I've been using my phone all day and if it's slower I can't tell a difference.

Overall, it's been very stable - no issues with Activesync, lockups, SMS, or lag. Haven't tested bluetooth or the GPS yet.

I don't know what else may be in store, but the only real-world improvements that I'd like to see are more free memory and even faster performance.

Re: No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) Thread

Make a poll.

I know that personally I never had issues with memory and would rather have less of it if my device is snappier. Others might want more memory. and some might want it in the middle.

See what the majority wants.

Did you change the 5050 build or will there be a 5051 with the new pagepool? Im still on 5046 and am looking to upgrade finally.

Re: No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) Thread

There _will_ be a 5051 release today. I haven't decided on a 4mb pagepool or 3mb pagepool yet. Personally I would rather have everyone be able to just adjust their pagepool, and that should be coming sometime this week (or next).

I'm also removing smartdialing and the sprintpcs override, because im sure everyone uses a custom dialer. I may also switch back to 19716, as dutty claims its much faster than 19199 (I haven't seen the benchmarks yet). Although I thought that 19199 was not a beta at first, one of the shell muis still has beta text in it, which seems a little suspect to me.

Im also taking out ceupi and encryption from the control panel since they are no longer used.

need to do more benchmarks to see. Personally, id like to work on nueMMS and nueminutes in my spare time, but until im satisfied with my base rom....

Great work no2chem!
