I switched back to 2.17 yesterday.

The EVDO connection problems were unbearable. It wasn't just that it was slow, it was unusable and would hang on "Loading" for as long as I would let it. I would have to remove the battery for 5 minutes..blah, blah, blah.

The GPS worked well (when I did have EVDO service), but I am a HEAVY data user, so this just didn't work for me.

So I will patiently wait for the official release.

I just had sprint do an "HLR reload" which is said to fix roaming problems (which I do have inspite of some post where I said otherwise). Instead it broke everything.. MDN and MSID are fine. Sprint could find nothing wrong and treid a few resets. I downgraded to 2.17 and still the same problem. I can dial *2 but everyhitng else disconnects instantly and no data. Sprint tried to help but eventually told me (I was upfront with them) that 2.17 is an upgrade rom and that it doens't overwrite everyhting. they suggested downgrading to the original rom. Can anyone confirm this? If this is true.. downgrading might not actually give you a pristine 2.17 rom.

also I just checkd every single setting in my EPST settings against my touch. Everything matches except the phone numbers and the scurity entry. My userneame did get mangled... I wonder if the password isn't also.. but this shouldn't affect the phone I wouldn't think. Anyway... that's probably for another thread.

I am with you bro. I am so glad I installed the unofficial rom. I love the GPS, and never have any problems finding sats, no matter what the weather is like.
Being an owner of many cars, it is so nice just carrying my GPS in my pocket with me from car to car. It is also nice when traveling with someone who does not have GPS and directions are needed.
My speeds have improved. This is most noticeable using slingplayer. I have always had the "show statistics" option enabled, and my kbps has more then doubled since the upgrade.
Stability, clearly more stable for me. Maybe this has alot to do with apps installed. Everyone has their own batch of apps they use, and maybe I just have a lucky combination, but this phone is so much more stable for me then before.
Bluetooth, have not tried yet, so I can not comment. But this post reminds me to try. I was using a bluetooth headset when I first upgraded from the 6700 to the 6800 and it did not work so well, so I stopped using it. I am going to give that a shot with hope it is improved.
I am still waiting for the official release, but if I dont read of any major changes, I doubt I will even install it.

Not to ruin your good praises but how long are you able to stream on slingplayer before it disconnects you. And if i doesn't, then please give me your Mogul specs because I know 3 other people who upgraded to the 3.1 ROM and their biggest complaint for downgrading was slingbox disconnecting.

I don't think there was a 2.13, but you can download the most current OEM ROM here....

I am still holding on to the latest one. I will wait for the official release which will likely have some the same bugs in it. Time will be the teller.

Same here. I'm not going to play around with leaked BETAs and brick my phone. I've heard horror stories (like the one in the post not too far up the page) of older 2.17s not working like they originally did. So until an OFFICIAL version is released, I'm playing it safe.
