Is there a COM port or anything it needs to be set to? I can't get Google Maps to find any satellites.

I downloaded the file and extracted it (it's after all just an archive). Has a word readme.doc file in it for ROM Upgrade Utility (RUU) who if you look at the properties of the file says it's written by Davis Hsieh.

Other than that, seems to have the usual files within it:

12/06/2007 01:56 AM 94,890,989 3.16.651.0.nbh
11/29/2006 01:36 PM 6,648 EnterBootloader.exe
08/25/2006 04:01 PM 100,394 ErrorBattery.fig
08/31/2006 05:09 PM 105,654 ErrorUSB.fig
05/10/2007 05:17 PM 10,232 GetDeviceData.exe
08/25/2006 03:59 PM 238,122 ModelID.fig
10/19/2007 04:09 PM 172,032 rapitool.exe
09/01/2006 07:26 PM 16,513,058 README.doc
03/16/2007 06:25 PM 22 ROMUpdateUtility.cfg
11/02/2007 11:08 AM 1,454,080 ROMUpdateUtility.exe
07/27/2007 10:20 PM 11,256 RUUGetInfo.exe
11/16/2007 06:06 PM 196,608 RUUHelper.dll
07/23/2007 07:46 PM 1,445,888 RUUResource.dll
12/11/2007 11:16 AM 12,741,371 Special_4350_SPC.nbh

All of this in case anyone is interested.

And, no, I didn't install it yet. Maybe later.

I ask with a crackly voice and a tear in my eye "I can install this on my XV6800, right?" I know better, but I am dying for someone to rip this apart and get the GPS nuts n bolts sorted out for GPS on the Verizon twin. . . .

this was on PDAphonehome.com

And BTW, the GPS is on COM4, baud rate 9600 (according to GPS test). Also the ROM update may erase your provisioning data, so have your MDN, MSID and MSL ready. Perhaps this just happened to me because the update failed once then went through but just a heads up.

i have no clue if it works just thought i would share it..

I'll look over there to see whats up. Mine defaulted to com4/9600 but I maybe there's something else I need to do since mine failed once and I also had to try again. I'm pretty sure all that is set up because I can make phone calls and access the net.

I tried manually setting this but it says that my GPS receiver does not appear to be responding. Hmmm....
