I've been using stock EF02 with EF10 OTA update modem since it was leaked. Both EF02 and EF10 modems seem just a bit wonky, the EF02 modem crashed a lot, the EF10 modem seems to really heat up when its in a low signal area. Other than that EF02 ROM is WAY better than stock Froyo. Much better battery life and much smoother. I'm not going back to Froyo.

Any downside to using the EC05 modem with EF02 update?

Okay I played around with it and its a little bit more tricky..its not an update.zip..its a FOMA update :/..aka even if we do extract it, it would only be flashable via redbend..considering that its not a new modem or hard to get there is probably no benefit from extracting it in that form :/
