In the meantime I though I'd try the RPS releases until I can get it sorted out.
Edify doesn't matter on market apps. I would suggest using Titanium Backup to backup and restore apps that you want to save the data from when you flash. I would only use CWM just to do a full backup just in case you need to restore the full rom and data when something goes wrong.

Hope I'm helping.

this statement here is the issue that i see, the "CWM3 reinstalled app insisted on an update and all seemed well until I rebooted into the boot loop." cw3 if just installed should not have a backup on it. its install cw3 flash rom then backup for next time or emergency.

I'm going to throw this out there in case someone else has had this happen and may be having problems because of it.

I'm on Windows 7 premium.

When I upgraded from 2.3 EXT4 to 2.7 EXT4 my computer got stuck running the "run.bat" file. I opened a new DOS shell (cmd.exe) and then typed in "ADB Shell". run.bat woke up and finished its work. I can't remember where I had read this but it happened to me a couple of weeks ago too and so I tried this right away this time.

I want to stress that this does not appear to be tied to this ROM at all but rather to ADB. I'm putting this out there in case somebody executing run.bat and assuming its done when it is not. It should either finish the bat and close your DOS window or return to a command prompt depending on how you initiated DOS.

I have not had a single problem with v2.7 EXT and only installed Market apps and known edify zips, like theme and swype.zip.

Hope this helps rather than muddling the picture.

I'm guessing my search button just isn't working correctly (I might just be blind), but how do I change back to the swype keyboard?
