Just wanted to say thanks to Flyer2114, Darren.wlsn1, and Pftdmedic. My Vista laptop just won't keep the Epic drivers, went to my XP desktop and it was cake. 2.8 flies, thanks for the hard work Pftd, best wishes to the fam...

That isn't always accurate. The only way you would still have the old cw is if the rom contains the old cw in the recovery files. 2.7 DOES NOT CONTAIN cw2.5. With v2.8 I made 4 different version. 2 of them are straight CW3 ONLY (no hidden CW2.5). The other 2 include the CW2.5 redirector so that even if you flash cw3 you still have access to CW2.5. DOes that make sense. Developers are moving away from the old CW and moving to CW3 mainly to migrate to edify fully. Hopefully we can get a CW3 port that doesn't force EXT4. I hate not having choices.

ya i get that but i still need to know what zip he is flashing cause most mods dont work on ext/edify unless there edited like on your site. bottomline i need more info. for exact answer.

I tried to flash some zip with CW2.5 booting through Rom Manager before I realized that you couldn't anymore. Then I flashed back to the CW2.5 rom so I could use the themes that hadn't been updated yet. One of the developers of that theme convert it so now I'm back on CW3.0. I just didn't know what zips could still be installed by booting into recovery 2.5 through Rom Manager.

It was different theme zips I was trying to install. Forgive me, I'm still an Android noob. This stuff is way more difficult that the old WinMo stuff.

Not at all, I didn't realize that there were different types of zips. I thought they were all the same, but just did different things (ie. Roms, themes, apps).
I wish we could get a development thread going like we had with the TP2 Collaboration thread. I really learned so much from that.
