We're thinking it'll be a subscription with both a monthly and yearly option. So if you decide not to continue your subscription you will go back to the regular system.

Since paying for the host and server is a monthly fee we incur, we would want a steady stream of donations to help, and a subscription is the best way to guarantee it.

If you just want to donate xx amount, then you're still more than welcome to do so.

Besides helping out the site, you can get the gold username, more PMs, bigger avatar, etc.

Those are just added benefits, the main thing is helping out with the cost of the site.
