Re: For those about to defect to Droid (or android)

Yes you can. Currently you will need to use PDANet which is a one time charge of $30. Once the phone is rooted though that should change.

Re: For those about to defect to Droid (or android)

I played with a Droid last week: screen was pretty, but man, was it heavy. Still liking my Omnia better.

Re: For those about to defect to Droid (or android)

I went to VZW to play with all the new toys. I had fun, but walked away. Maybe Moto will make a thinner droid without the keyboard? Just for us? I don't hear much talk about the Imagio, but it seemed kinda nice, as did the Eris. In the end, I left there thinking that my Omnia is still a decent piece of hardware. And thanks to all the great chefs, the software keeps getting better and better! (I'm hangin' around for WinMo7)

Re: For those about to defect to Droid (or android)

My decked out Omnia just got 175 on ebay. Someone was really lucky though. Probably didn't know what hit him when he opened that box. "What? no Samsung widgets????" lol
Well, living with the Droid, I can tell you, yes I do love it a LOT. I REALLY miss getting into the inside and messing around like I did on my Omnia. I downloaded a file explorer app to try out. Sucked. But in a way, after tweeking every other day (Omnia), it's kind of nice to do other things for a change. And I'm getting WAY more sleep.

Re: For those about to defect to Droid (or android)

So i got an email from verizon saying that i can upgrade early and the droid eris is pictured in the email along with the imagio and the env3. When i goto thesit it asks for my number and zipcode. i put them in and it asks me to choose a plan. after you oick a plan the phones come up. i pick a pda plan and no phones appear, but if i choose a regualar plan or a bb plan it works. I think verizon needs some new web developers. anyway i looked at the droid in the store yesterday and i was very impressed at how fluid the screen movement was. hopefully by the time i get my real upgrade in january the price will drop

Re: For those about to defect to Droid (or android)

Anyone hear the rash of problems on the Moto Droid. Apparently the speakers are popping for no reason. Just blowing out. That is enough to hold off on the Moto or look at the HTC Droid.

Where have you read that? You'd think if it was a real problem it would have been mentioned by now on one of the many gadget sites I follow...
