Re: (Possibly) Working aGPS Solution!

Ad, to make sure I understand on the registry edits, when I clock on the thing that says CurrentLogFile, it says String Value, and then Name: CurrentLogFile, and String: \windows\GPSLogfile.txt.

Are you saying I should delete what it says under String, but not under name?

And now it wont let me do Sh*t on my phone, it wont let me open anything!!!!

Sorry for the break down you all, but after anotherr soft reset it kinda had my phone working a lil bit better. Now I need to know how in the hell do I get rid of this cab fom my hone with out hard reset, it turned off my agps drivers!!
Dude Chill out, maybe you ought to spend some time researching before you try things. If you had taken the time to read one of several forums you would know that the GPS is locked on the stock Omnia. Also one of the risks of using things from the internet is that they may or may not be safe to use, and by downloading and installing a Cab you assumed that risk. Adryn did not force you to try it and you have no right to come on here talking like a freaking sailor and expect any one to help you out. Like Adryn Said, talk like a normal adult and maybe you can get somone to help. There are many many users on here that would be willing given that the attitude is better than what you showed.

Right. Just the log names.

I'm using CeRegEditor, and it is not allowing me to delete this in the registry key. Says something about not being able to save a blank field.

Re: (Possibly) Working aGPS Solution!

hey adryn, do you think location is a big factor in this? i followed the instructions after flashing 3.9.2 yesterday and really don't seem to get a lock too much quicker than before. id say i get one in around 2-5 minutes when i am standing outside, and i never get one if i am anywhere inside of my house. i tried deleting the strings in the registry and it didn't really help out too much either. i can still get a lock in about the same amount of time, and i actually didn't get a lock at all on my 15 minute drive to work, which i thought was pretty strange.

i am just thinking my location is having more to do with the amount of time to get a lock since other people seem to be having more success than i.

you think that is just probably the case? by the way, ive tried both managed by windows and the com8 57600 settings.

Re: (Possibly) Working aGPS Solution!

Certainly.

The file downloaded is merely an "estimate" of where the gps sattelites are GOING to be so that a lock can be attempted faster.

It doesnt always work. I have some users in on Samsung-omnia.org that were dropped in the middle of the ocean. I believe redownloading the file helped with that.

Last night, I had heavy cloud cover and couldnt lock for crap.

So location does have bearing, Im afraid.
