Re: (Possibly) Working aGPS Solution! (Take Two)
Just a note for everyone... I can't get any signal locks when I specify COM8 and any speed in Gmaps. However, when I let windows manage it, I get locks between 5seconds and 2 minutes. Just never have with the com port specified.
Oddly enough, I had the same problem with my 6800. intermediate driver always worked. I'm in St. Louis if it matters. |

Re: (Possibly) Working aGPS Solution! (Take Two)
Well, I've tried pretty much every suggestion short of flashing a new ROM (mine's a Telus phone, so I don't even know if there's one available), and still get piss-poor GPS performance. It works outside or through thin walls, and I get five satellites at best... mostly it wanders between two and three, even outside. With my HTC Titan, I could get 6-7 satellites within seconds just sitting here at my desk, so suffice to say, I'm not terribly impressed with this.
One thing that always helped with my HTC was using QuickGPS, but that won't even run on the Omnia (gives me a "may not be signed with a valid certificate" or some such... same problem I had with it on my HTC before I got the latest dcd ROM). I've tried removing and reinstalling several times, including the "patched" version. Anyone have any other ideas? Some way to get QuickGPS running? I've even downloaded and dropped in a packedEphemeris.ee file without much help. |

Re: (Possibly) Working aGPS Solution! (Take Two)
i love being the biggest noob when it comes to these things, but maybe some one can help me. I ran q-gps, it downloaded yada yada. Then i installed google maps and gave it a soft reset. Now when i go into gmaps and click Use GPS it says Seeking GPS Satelites (0)... and continues to stay that way. Did i do something wrong? lol

The weather plays a big role in getting a GPS signal. I have had better luck with the Quick GPS app, but still have issues on overcast days. Be patient. Let GMaps run for a while seeking Sats. If you do not get anything after 10 minutes, you may need to wait for a clearer day. First and foremost, though, make sure you flashed the cc20 leaked ROM and then changed the GPS settings to be Location On rather than 911 in the Phone settings (using whatever ROM you have now). IF you have done this already, you may want to check the setting again. I have had the Location On randomly turned off. |

Re: (Possibly) Working aGPS Solution! (Take Two)
Will not run on my XV6900 / Vogue (running NFSFAN's v1.15 VZW ROM)
It installs fine, then when I try to run it, it says "cant be found" or "not signed" blah blah...also, the certs fix is not the issue here. it just simply will not run on my Vogue, when the same file will run fine on my TouchPro *sigh* Is there somewhere I can just manually download the xtra.bin file from weekly? that would be easier actually.

I just wish I could get QuickGPS to work - that wouldn't ever run for me on the P4000 either, until the last DCD ROM I used... then it ran, and improved GPS performance noticeably. Wish I could figure out how to get it to run on the Omnia now. |
