Flashing Issues!!! UMDL

I don't think i can get anything to work right - now I tried to take the plunge on my 1.0 and flash BUT the UMDL will not detect my device. I follow the directions. USB is mass storage and I don't even have active sync on this computer but it'll turn on, my windows XP will detect the omnia but the UMDL will say Can't Detect Device...any MORE suggestions?

Make sure that you put the samsung modem drivers on your computer

You will find them on the CD that came with the phone. If you can't find the CD get them at Verizon.com.

The idoctor also has the drivers (and instructions, downloads, and more).

Oh my god, I'm about to throw my phone against a wall...

I finally got through all the steps and I flashed Adrenelyns simple rom. Everything goes through fine - it now finds the device, writes the image, gets to 100% and says job done, launching but when it restarts my phone it keeps freezing in the initial Omnia screen. Ive tried restarting, removing the battery, searching the forums, hard reseting myself and nothing seems to work. I even tried flashing a different rom with the same result.

Have you flashed CC20? None of the custom ROMs will work if you haven't flashed CC20 first.

Go to the idoc and download CC20. It was never compressed so you will download the image itself. When you get it downloaded, run UMDL and click the Unified Image key, not PDA. Let it load CC20 then click Detect. Plug in your powered off phone and turn it on. Do not touch the phone while it is flashing.

Let us know what happens after you flash CC20. We will get you there. Your wall will thank you.

Every issue I have in this process I think, this is the one they're not gonna have an answer for...im SOL but you keep coming up with something new so hopefully you got one more in the bank..

As you said, I dl-ed CC20 from idoctor and started to load it but in my 6th attempt it keeps freezing at the same spot everytime. Right around 48%. I posted the log below....praying you got one more answer for me...

Unfortunately I don't. Well, I do but you're not gonna like it. 48% (or 49%) is one of the places that bricks stop loading.

I'm currently looking around to see if there's a remedy. If not, you will have to to get VZW to replace your phone. Just tell them it won't boot. It's happened before and it'll happen again. It might have been the phone, not you that caused the brick.

There should be no problem replacing it. DON'T tell them you flashed it.
