Re: Flashing Issues!!! UMDL

They must say flash in the prefix and be .bin, Adryn's ROM's all do. Maybe you need to look for the folder in which they are stored.

Re: Flashing Issues!!! UMDL

The adrenyln roms that I'm downloading are called Flash_adr_3_8_1_base.7z or Flash_adr_1_7.7z

Should I just rename these?

Ok, i figured it out! You need to unzip the files that you downloaded. WinRar will do it. Google winRar and then install in onto your computer. Open the file's that you downloaded from Adryn's site with winrar and them the UMDL will see them. PM me if you have issues.

Re: Flashing Issues!!! UMDL

The .bin files are over 100MB so Adryn had to compress them to fit onto the download website.

7zip does a much better job compressing/decompressing. Since it's the program that Adryn used to compress it, I would use 7zip.

Ok I did it, is it a problem if I don't have USB 2.0 tho? I've read on modaco that I shouldn't flash without 2.0

That's exactly what I used after simply googling .7z. Sometimes I forget how powerful google is...if that's possible.

Thanks again for the help tho.

I've seen reports both pro and con. You have an older laptop/desktop?

Some say they have flashed with USB1.0 while others say it failed for them. If you do choose to flash, make sure all other USB ports are not connected and reboot your host. I wouldn't open any other apps while flashing, either.

You don't have a friend with USB2.0? BTW, some desktops have USB1.0 on the front while USB2.0 is on the rear connectors. Early HP computers running XP come to mind.

Re: Flashing Issues!!! UMDL

I flash on usb 1.0 ive done over 30 flashes...
the worst thing i have had it do, is not see the phone during a flash and the phone booted up normal.. i reset my pc and tried again... and it worked..
If you have to use usb 1.0 i suggest stopping all background stuff (IE,mozilla,WMP,etc) then flash...

That exactly what I did when I first flashed. I used my wife's laptop and killed the wifi connection, the firewall and all virus protection programs. I didn't want to take any chances. Then I flashed and flashed successfully. The guys on here really helped me out alot b/c I was really nervous to do it, at first
