are you talking about the 1000's of free podcast that consume data and therefore drain the battery much faster. Alot of people forget that the fm battery consumption is very very minimal. with the podcast connections the data transfer kills the battery. People use the radio to listen to games and local music, i'm not sure the podcasts do that.

No I'm talking about the 1,000's of podcast that you download to your computer and sync over to your SD card. I'm not aware of this process consuming any additional battery life.

You're right, but that doesn't help the radio problem in the least.

Re: HTC Touch Pro 2 OR HTC Imagio

I just love having a keyboard and to be able to sit the phone open on my desk tilted on is really key for me. I usually leave aim or msn running on my phone and I like being able to look over and see what is written to me and be able to bang out a response without having to move my phone. Maybe its just me I dunno, I just love having a keyboard again!

Re: HTC Touch Pro 2 OR HTC Imagio

I can't wait for HTC Imagio, and I hope Sprint will follow through with Verizon, and bring it soon, if not, i'll seriously consider jumping in Verizon's yard.

The 5-megapixel camera only will make it worth any upgrade cost. This is a huge leap that beats even the mighty Iphone. Not to mention the WM6.

One consideration in chosing between TyTN and screen keyboard:

If you need a physical keyboard to type in with both hands, get a freaking tablet. IMHO a phone is a device that one can use single-handed. Coming from Treo Pro, I never felt comfortable with any sidekick/tytn-type devices. Those are for teenagers. On an iphone size screen one can type a txt or e-mail, even single-handed. You don't need to write novels in train.

Now with the Imagio the iphone will have a true lookalike, but it will be the iphone that will look like a poor contender.

QUALITY!!!, sadly to say nearly all stations I have found on the internet for music i like stream in 64kbps quality... WHICH SUCKS and compared to my local FM radio station makes me want to cry!
Most of the streams I listen to are much better quality than the overly compressed and frequency response restricted FM stations, not to mention the excessive amount of commercials. 64K and even 48K AAC+ streams sound much better than typical FM to me, and I find they do quite well while I'm driving even on 1X. I have playlists with a bunch of stations and I just advance tracks to change from one to another. The programming quality is far better than most anything I find on homogenized FM. I also have the option of listening to streamed AM stations in much better quality than off the air.

I would like FM for emergencies. At this point I think IBOC HDRadio and DAB tuners should be included, but that would likely add cost for licensing.

Re: HTC Touch Pro 2 OR HTC Imagio

Well I packed up my TP2 and am returning it tomorrow. I rather have the slimmer Imagio and although I like the physical keyboard I prefer the virtual. Hopefully they will reset my upgrade to what it was before I got the TP2.
