Touch Pro (xv6850) vs. Titan (xv6800)

its because all of the Sprint idiots come in and their answer to 2 VZW phones is: "switch to Sprint" or "the VZW Pro sucks" which are moronic off-topic answers and getting VERY old around here. Another simple thread destroyed by moronic comments and once again a Sprint vs VZW battle on something that has NOTHING to do with Sprint.

The real answer to the OP is it is an upgrade between the 2 devices. Youll still have a LOT more free RAM vs the 6800 even if it is less than other carriers and the VGA screen is awesome. Look at one in the store and check it out before you buy.

I have my Titan unlocked and the Touch Flo Rom on it and it flys! but compared to the Sprint Touch Pro I was playing with today, IT can hold its own but falls behind. So I was thinking the XV6850 would still be better than my current system, and when people start tweaking it, It will just jump farther ahead. that is till i heard its crippled. I guess what i really want to know is can the 'crippling' be un-crippled? or atleast to a high degree.

The Touch Pro, even with less memory than other CDMA or GSM versions, will be an improvement over the Titan. End of story.


Unfortunately the real holdback, WM 6.1, is not something that is easily upgraded yet.......

How about this Get the unlocked sprint version either from Ebay or Newegg and have it added to VZW service then you get the best of both worlds. Keep your vzw service and a much better phone. But anything is better than the titan much more ram is my top thing.

Eh I bought the vzw touch pro and it wasent that great. Out of the box 46 megs of free ram, touch flo 3d disabled. Enabled it and it lagged like crazy terrible. Technically I guess its a better phone, however for 350 bucks its not a better phone. My titan right now (xv6800) can do way more than the TP out of the box and as of yet I havent seen any hacks to unlock the GPS or anything for the vzw touch pro. I was so pissed off with verizon I moved the entire family to sprint and dont regret doing so. Honestly if its even a remote option (going with sprint that is) I would look into switching over to sprint and just paying the early term fee. Even payin the early term fee I will be breaking even in a few months with the amount of money im saving with sprint right now. And I got a phone that had 2x the stats of the vzw phone for 260 dollars so the writing was on the wall for me I couldent make up excuses any longer as to why I was still with vzw. So far so good no looking back yet.


Dont know if that helps you much or not hopefully it dose. Honestly if I was to stick with vzw I think you would be best off to just ebay a sprint TP or alltell one and activate it on the vzw network viz the guide that I have seen posted here.

That would be the biggest bang for your buck, cause vzw is going to rape you on that phone and its only "half the man" the sprint phone is.

Agreed. The question at hand is 6850 vx 6800. Not 6850 vs the friggin' world.

The 6850 blows away the 6800. It's VGA, it's got a full extra row of keys. It's a better device. And once ROMs are created for it, it'll be THE device to have on the Verizon network.

#1 issue would be no insurance on it through VZW and no repair or warranty service or swaps. Mine as well get unlocked phones on GSM at that point.

There is no comparison at all. The Titan is week compared to the TP. HEre is my phone progression 6700->6800->6900->6850->6900-6850.

I sent the TP back because it was so locked down. That aside there is no comparison to the 6800 or the 6900.

If you havent used or seen the phone yet you will poop yourself with the screen. Its AMAZING.

Go with the 6850. IM getting one shipped and will be here tommorow.
