Sprint Treo 800W: 7/22 + 2 Pics

The SMS is fine with me, I use PocketCM for that (and there are other apps out there to get the threaded SMS on these devices as well), but the lack of MMS scared me for a bit htere until I realized that was a Sprint change. I guess it is a toss-up with what features you lose/gain with different providers. With Sprint the MMS is disabled, with VZW it is the GPS. Oh well, I guess we have to settle with the lesser of evils and hope one of the geniuses in here can beat it, I believe the app mmsguy (sorry if I got your name wrong guy) will do it for the wx, and if it does, the 800w lack of MMS may be a moot point for Sprint users already!!!!

I agree... I'd rather say to hell with the mms for now. The name you are trying to say is SomeGuyMMS. And I was thinking the same thing. I wanted to email or send a txt msg, but have not got to it yet..
Bigger problem, I signed my contract on January 11, I'm gonna catch hell trying to pursuade sprint to trade phones for me. Cause I doubt they will let me do an upgrade so soon. Then again who knows?
When I talked to the lady at sprint she told me I would melt when I see it.

Thanks for the name (sorry SomeGuyMMS!!!) help. I just can't wait for the 800w. My contract is either already up or will be by the time VZW gets it! My only hope is that the GPS block is beaten soon after it is out!!

Has anyone seen any information on the physical size of the phone (not just the screen)? Links? Thats what has always kept me away from the treos, is their bulkiness. Hope the 800 is smaller!

It is supposed to be slightly smaller than the 700 and a lot lighter!! (plus...no external antenna)

oh crap, totally missed the dimensions there in that article, which i read btw lol. thanks for pointing that out. so its going to be .4 inches taller than the Vogue and .2 inches thicker and the same width with 1 ounce more heft. Sounds like a promising size. cant wait to see it in the stores!

edit: i was doing the size comparison on phone arena, they dont have the treo 800 available for it yet, but the dimensions are pretty much the same as the treo 755p and the mogul.

Is it me or are you guys thinking that the July 13th release is not going to happen. I have been waiting for this phone for a long time now. I love my 700wx but its time for something new after almost 2 years. I have asked many sprint reps and they never seem to know anything. the Palm site has nothing as well. Its less than 2 weeks from that date come on. What the Freak is the hold up.

It isn't as much as we don't think it will happen, it is just that Palm has a history of delaying releases, so most of us have developed a 'believe it when we see it' attitude. It very well may happen on the 13th, and from all reports we have found, the 13th does pop up more consistantly than other dates!! I wouldn't expect to find anything on the Palm site until release date, or within a day or two, they keep these things 'under wraps' as long as they can.

So basically....hang onto the wx and see what happens....I am!!!!

yeah, it's about the same length and width as the 755p and the same thickness as the centro.
