Warranties are only covered by the manufacturer(as im sure you know). Sprint Stores will swap if they have a spare battery (be careful!!!!!). You can get new batteries from the stores you just have to pay for them. I usually suggest going to a service center, if you get a nice enough person they might just give you one because they usually have some laying around. I have done it for customers before.

UPDATE:
I emailed ecare@cc.sprintpcs.com informing them that I have been a long time customer and that the Treo 800w eats up the battery life etc.... They responded with this Looking upon the inconvenience in this regard, I offer you the free battery for your Treo. I request you to purchase the battery from your nearest Sprint store and write back to me with the scanned copy of purchase receipt. I will apply the credit of that amount on your account which will be adjusted against the next invoice on the account. Thank you again for contacting Sprint. We appreciate your business.
