Re: Will you upgrade?

800 here I come... But first I have to see It in person and I have to talk to tech support about it.. I hate regular sales associates... they'll say anything to get money. VZW is not gonna have the full GPS. But they will have the MMS capability.Sprint will have the full navi but not the MMS.. But who cares.. someone is smart enuf create a third party..
I have 2 treo 700wx and will be giving both u for the 800w.
I'm guessing ATT and Tmobile will be carrying the 850w.
I have one question tho for those who know about this on our 700wx. will I be able to use P.A.M? I kinda really need and like that feature in case I'm afk from a connection.

Does that mean we can't utilize a GPS app like TomTom on it? As far as I am concerned, GPS is one of the main draws/improvements Palm has made in their PPCs. If they do that, I may have to look elsewhere for a new PPC!!! Anybody else feel the same?
I heard all that crap about the Touch, too, and it had a real gps on board. People are STILL trying to say it doesn't have a "real" GPS.

Anyway, I need to make a trip to the store before I commit. It looks nice enough, it has pretty good specs and the screen size will sure be an improvement BUT the reason I went from a 700wx to a Touch was Slingplayer. On the 700wx the video was the size of a postage stamp. Even with my glasses I could barely see it and there's no full screen mode for the square screen. If it's watchable on the 800, I'll be leaving the store with one. If it's not watchable or they don't even let me try it, I'm afraid I'll have to pass.

It seems like you're making a decison on purchasing a seemingly great great hardware device for a 3rd party app. I have the vzw-wx, and with vzw continous device limitations, I would rather wait. I have searched this form and others, and haven't came across any solid pricing for the 800w. No one has mentioned its true bt ability. By saying this, there's no 3rd party app., or hardware restrictions, would pry me from the wx for a new device that would cost me more just to get the new 800w to meet my specs. I'll just wait for the final wx upgrade (WM6).

I say, "NO".

Re: Will you upgrade?

I will most defenatly upgrade. I went to the sprint store today and played with the phone. The store I went to is the in Union NJ. and they are always having issues (their network was down) so I was unable to buy it today. I will go back on Thursday. Heres my queston. Does any one know if sprint will release othere colors for the 800 the way they did for the Centro. I bought my wife's Red Centro in December 07 by January 08 they had released it in Pink. I just hate that blue. Silver or atleast black is the more generic and versitile color. So any ideas or rumors out there?

Re: Will you upgrade?

I'm going to "upgrade" from my Mogul to 800w - at least, I'll see if Sprint honors the agreement they made with me early this year to swap my BT-worthless Mogul for an 800w.

I love my Touch, so assuming Sprint honors their agreement (I don't make that assumption), I may just eBay it. Will try one in a store first - hope I love it!

Sprint agreed to honor the agreement. Picked one up today. Will try it tonight.

Re: Will you upgrade?

Definetely upgrading. Even though I've had the 700wx for about a year, I'm a heavy user. I've even written some Mortscript apps for it. I'm just patiently waiting for the 800w and my 8Gb MicroSD card to come in.

Re: Will you upgrade?

Yes, I will upgrade. Sick of HTC. I am on my third Mogul and its begining to have problems. Most recently, I cant charge the phone using the port provided. Had to get an external charger. I used a 700wx while I was waiting for my latest Mogul and I was very impressed. With the 800 having WM 6.1, Wi-fi, hard keyboard, and gps, I wont miss my Mogul.
