Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready

Hi again, Thanks again for all your efforts. I did get success with the 6.5 21232 kitchen as it comes out of the box. The rom it creates does boot and is functional. However, when trying to update the 21232 kitchen to 21812 I followed the instructions listed in the first post. I get a broken kitchen.

Quote:
Rename your ROM and SYS folders.

Copy the xip.bin from the new ROM folder and paste it into the kitchen base folder.

Open shell.cmd in kitchen and type this exactly how you see:

osnbtool -c os.nb 1 xip.bin

Hit enter, and let it finish.

Rename your old os.nb and rename the new os.nb.NEW to os.nb.

You are now ready to cook!
I assume that after renaming the old ROM and SYS folders that we put the new ROM and SYS folders in place of the old. Then copied the new xip.bin and run with shell.cmd osnbtool -c os.nb 1 xip.bin. That part seemed OK.

Then I clicked aaa_Click2Build.cmd and keep all default settings in the BuildOS. Then BuildOS errors with messagebox "The file 'temp\dump\mkeeper.ini' already exists." When I ok the message box and close out the BuildOS the Samsung i90X ROM Kitchen window halts with "BUILD ROM ERROR".

A file search reveals that mkeeper.ini is part of both "MyPhone" in OEM and "Skybox" in SYS. So I untick "Microsoft MyPhone" in the BuildOS (which I think is a to the web backup program which I don't plan to use) Then BuildOS reports "Done" and Kitchen window does a build.

Is it ok to leave out "Microsoft MyPhone" or will that break my Omnia? Any ideas?

Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready

Adrynalyne, I was looking into BuildOS on google and noticed that it's part of a larger install called PPCkitchen from PPCkitchen.org. I downloaded their BuildOS.msi off their website and realized that we didn't get the whole kitchen from you. Just a microwave and a sink. LOL.

Thier kitchen has a blender, a stove, and even a refrigerator and cutlery set. It is also designed to cook a lot more than just tv dinners for the omnia i910.

It seems that it was not meant to cook for the omnia at all. Now I realize that you left out the cutlery set to keep us from cutting ourselves, but is there a chance you could share with us how to go about making the PPCkitchen ready to cook for the omnia? This way we could play with the other kitchen gizmos like blenders and stoves to be able to do advanced things that the kitchen is actually capable of?

Its beyond my means to make ppck work. I have no idea. The kitchen I provided is what i900 users have as well.

Well, it was worth a shot anyway. Don't get the idea that I don't appreciate my microwve and sink though. You are the man for making this much possible for us. Two thumbs up for Adrynalyne.

Maybe if WoZzer or shokka9 sees the post they will help to shed some light for us all. Until then I'll keep sluggin at it. If I have any epiphanies I'll share them. Thanks again for all your posts

Yep and if you have the know how on building one then please let us know as we would be more then happy to use it.

This kitchen works perfectly to build ROMs for the Omnia. It only takes a little knowledge and patience to use.

It really sounds as if you are ungrateful with the things you say. I know I immediately took it that way. You might want to rethink how you say things.

As for Wozzer and Shokka9: Wozzer is pretty much done and Shokka works on i900 ROMs so they won't be any help.

Exclamation Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready

Actually almost every post by me contains praise and thanks to those who I knew were involved. I tried to joke about the microwave ect... Maybe you had a lot to do with making this thing work and I failed to mention your name when I was singing praises to everyone that worked so hard....

Thanks for all your contributions to the project as well. I knew that you released some ROMs as well. I'm sure your ROMs are very nice. I have read that it was so in posts by other users who have tried them. It's just that I never tried yours, so your name didn't occur to me when I was handing out thank-you notes. I'm not trying to get cross with anyone.

I am not without humility in the forum with those who have achived where I have failed. So if I have offened you, please forgive me.

Honestly, I had nothing to do with this kitchen and while I thank you for nice words it really concerned me when I saw your comments about what was lacking. To me, not having read any of your other posts, it looked like complaining.

It would be great to have this kitchen be like the PPCKitchen. Heck, I have even asked about it several times and I have gotten no where with the powers that be here and in other locations. So, until we can get more involvement this is all we got.
