Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready

Hello all and special thanks to Adrynalyne, Wozzer, bgill55, shokka9 and others who have labored to make it possible for us to flash our omnias. I have enjoyed using the Flash_1_4.Adrynalyne ROM for a few weeks. It seemed to have much improved speed and battery life over the Wozzer's FlashOS 6.5 M2D.03 which I also liked. I have finally gathered the courage to try to cook my own ROM and was interested in using Adrynalyne's 2.7 WM 6.5 Release build 21232 udated to 21812 Kitchen as mentioned in the first. Is this kitchen also ready to cook? My concern was that there is no syakr.exe included in the 2.7 6.5WM Kitchen.

If I were dealing with a PC instead of my $200 phone I would be brave and just copy the saykr from the 1.3 kitchen. But not knowing much about all this other than how to flash, I am concerned about maybe the sakr is not compatible with WM6.5. Information that is available seem quite cryptic and makes one unsure of his footing concerning versions i.e i900 vs i910 and WM6.1 vs WM6.5 ect. A little more advise on using the 6.5 kitchen would go a long ways towards making sure my ingredients are the right ones for the dish I'm trying to cook.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready

Syakr is not needed for the 6.5 kitchen, and could end up breaking things, so I removed it. The kitchen is ready to cook, but way out of date, so update it with the instructions provided. I try to keep the updates flowing.

Re: Verizon i910 6.1 and 6.5 Kitchens Ready

Thanks for the quick reply. So if no saykr then do I manually remove things?

I've been running filesystem monitor apps to see what is going on in the background of the in the 1.3 kitchen so I can do manual removes. Looks like saykr is actually a ruby interpreter or comiler thats executing out of "C:\Documents and Settings\username\eee\eee.syakr.exe\bin\". I don't know much about Ruby. I thought it was more or less a server side scripting engine like PHP or ASP.

I am surely going about this the wrong way. LOL!! It just seems so foreign to me.

Well, not much is left for Syakr to remove

If you feel comfortable with Syakr, you can use the one out of my 1.3 kitchen.

Sakr does not work by just copying the saykr.exe and from the 1.3 kitchen to the 6.5 kitchen. It loads, but is just an empty list.

What I'm really trying to do is get a WM6.5 build that does not have that pesky task switcher enabled. Thats really the reason that I stopped flashing when I found your v1.4 WM6.1 build. I use the omnia in landscape mode w/ autorotation disabled and assigned to a button. With the taskswitcher enabled, it drives me nuts trying to scroll because in landscape mode, swiping from bottom to top is pretty easy to do when scrolling a webpage. There does not seem to be a way to disable that or remove it from the BuildOS program.
