Re: Will Windows Mobile Be There In The Future?
I think android is an ok OS but a ways to go before business ppl take it as a serious "work horse" for a phone. Iphone is hardly a smartphone or a phone I believe somebody can do any type of work off of. Bb is alright but they OS need an overhaul as well as its becoming outdated a lil and palm new webOS still gotta show and prove. So with all that being said I'll stick with my perfect winmo os that fits my needs for media and work. I don't bash OS's as none are sound but I used a lot of phones(most on the market) and winmo works best for me(keyword ME) so imma ride this horse for as long as I can. And I really think what turned a lot of business ppl off/away from the iphone is after using it you can't multitask on it/programs can't run in the background which was an epic fail for most ppl who run 3 or more programs at a time IMO

Re: Will Windows Mobile Be There In The Future?
No because everyone else isn't speaking like they have facts, it's all speculation. You talk like you know facts and as if you have played with and seen WM 7. How do you know what the start menu, home screen or anything else will look like?? You don't so how do you know that some of the stuff incorporated in 6.5 will be dropped and "a waste" as you call it. I have seen many leaked pictures and there has been more then one type of home screen. And to speak on the start menu button you were talking about in the other thread. The button has nothing to do with if the OS can run on the device, it's just a requirment on microsofts end because the button will trigger something in the OS. Like maybe the start menu or something who knows. It may even take you to the market place which i can gurantee you will be in WM 7.

Edit: and they only thing i guranteed is that the marketplace will be included in WM 7 and you can quote me on that. They aren't putting all this work into it for nothing |

Re: Will Windows Mobile Be There In The Future?
I for one just wana know if there is life on that saturn moon! Wouldn't it be cool?? think about it. All the money used to develope OS's would be diverted to bringing home oversized guppies from that under ice ocean to study and breed!
Well I for one have NOT used or SEEN WM7 in any shape or form so I will keep the comments to my self about it till we have a working beta in hand. I have tried 6.5 and I like it. Just not in it's current form. I use sprint and I happen to like sprint tv, gps, and some of the extras it provides but it's a hit and miss with current 6.5 roms whether they will work or not. I mean, on some roms they work fabulous but on others they crash the phone. And it always turns out that when I love a particular rom, some of the features don't work and/or has bugs that make me itch. So I actually am running stock 6.1 with just a few visual enhancments and couldn't be happier. Why? Because it works. It's not perfect, but when I want to use something, it just works. I do have a second TP (not activated) to test and play around with to see what is better for me. Like I said in a previous post, everyone has thier own different taste. I may like your taste and you may like mine, but it all boils down to what YOU like. There is no wrong in liking what you like. I, personally, don't like google. I do not use ANY of there services if I don't have to. I try to steer clear. As for android, I have played with a working G1 with OS 1.5 and to be honest, I don't like it. Not because it's not WM, but because I don't like the way it feels, looks, and operates. But that is strictly my view of it. I know WM is not the only thing out there, and I'm glad for that actually. Gives M$ a chance to say OH SH** we need to do something!! But I for one, will stick with WM till something better comes about that obliterates M$'s OS. Might be next year, might be 5 years, but until then, I will stick with a tried n true OS. |
