I personally think (total guess) that it will be $479 (2 year) - $70 (MIR) - $100 (NE2, if applicable) = $309.

That's just what I expect at first launch, but it wouldn't surprise me if it dropped another $50 in the time (typically two weeks) between telesales and in-store availability.

Being that the Touch Pro no longer qualifies for MIR, I can't wait to see Verizon's rebate sheet, which should be out today. Obviously they wouldn't have wanted the Touch Pro2 and Touch Pro on the same sheet, since it would stifle sales of the original. However, I'm still doubting that the Touch Pro2 will be on there until the next time around (September).

Sorry for the back to back posts, but a poster over at HoFo seems to have information that suggests an 8/27 Verizon release of the TP2. While he's never come out and said he works for Verizon, the "tone" of his posts always suggest that he does. He was also able to post pics of his Samsung Saga over a month before release, and also confirmed what came in the box of the Ozone prior to its release.

Having done this whole "waiting" thing for every device since the XV6600 (Hermes), I've always learned to be cautious in what to believe. It seems like the 27th is too close to not have seen any screenshots of internal docs, but I also have no reason whatsoever to discount his (or her?) information.

First of all, that won't happen, since Sprint will just bump up their release date just like they did for the Tour. How else are they supposed to save their company?

Then again, if Verizon's did come out first, it just means Sprint is too busy dry humping their Pre. Remember a few years ago, when no one got an HTC device before AT&T? Now look what's happened.

It's been some time since we last spotted HTC's Touch Pro2 in the wild with a Verizon tattoo, and yet, there's a tinge of unfamiliarity with these new shots. For whatever reason, on this model the HTC logo has been banished to the opposite reaches of the front display, whereas previously it was fit to share space right next to the Verizon logo / check mark. Everything else seems to be identical, however, including any indication of when and for how much we'll be able to pick one up ourselves. Hey VZW, how's that fire sale of the original Touch Pro coming along?
