I would certainly demand all my money back. Im not to familiar with the issue, but I imagine I would conduct the conversation something like this.

Can my 6800 do MMS? They will of course tell me its not supported. I would then ask them to confirm,MMS just wont work on the 6800? Really? Ok then, what were you charging me for? I want that money back.

For most of the users there is nothing to get back. It is part of the offering (if capable). I have not read the fine print but rest assured, it's in there. For those of you that have been charged $5 a month, you were told when you added it that it was not supported so their comments will be something to the effect of "we can cancel it but it your own damn fault for adding it on a device that is not supported"

Don't get me wrong, I have signed all the petitions and am just as upset but lets just say I know a little about how the law works and have dealt with sprint plenty enough to gauge how they react to things without asking.

I think this site actually might give us the ammo needed to fight back, however not against Sprint but instead against HTC. We need to organize something to stick them with the false advertising. The tutorial mentions nothing about it only being available on certain carriers. File you BBB complaints against HTC not Sprint.

sprint is just stupid, its so embarrassing when i cant send a picture to my buddies from my $500 phone and people with the free promo phones do it all day. sprint is stupid by blocking the "high end" phones from sending pics, after all us with the "high end" phones are the ones willing to pay for the service, use data, and most of all the sprint network features. bad bad move sprint did. new phone on the market cant send a stupid picture but an old .2mp camera flip phone can do it. sprint has to step up and do something.

edit: bad enough sprint can't make up their mind on what to charge me every month without ever going over my usage and getting different rates all the time. pffft

Another suggestion. File complaints at HTC's website. Everyone send them an email and attach a picture of their website showing it being supported. Enough pressure on their end should cause an update the the phone showing its support.

That's a silly idea. That is HTC's international website. There are other companies that use the Titan / Mogul / Touch / Vogue and have MMS supported. It's not up to HTC.

Agreed, mostly... granted, it would probably be NICE for HTC to mention on that tutorial that some features may not be available on all carriers, but it's really not their place - your carrier's site is where you should be looking for specific info on the phones they give you.

For example, if you look up the Titan on Telus's website (they call it the P4000), it lists "text message" support, but doesn't mention picture messages at all. The only indication that it might not is that phones that DO support it specifically list picture-messaging... for example, on the KRZR, they list "Integrated text and picture messaging"... but you'd have to know to be specifically looking for that omission.

If you do feel like contacting HTC, don't do it in a complaining way... just make the suggestion that it would be really helpful of them to add such a disclaimer for their customers' benefit. Flies and honey, and all that.

Then get medieval on Sprint's ass (and Telus's, and whoever else cripples their phones).

A Sprint employee telling us to complain to HTC instead of Sprint?.... I think NOT. HTC did not disable the MMS we had working: Sprint did.

The fun of trying to work around Sprints' purposeful disabling of our devices is beginning to be outweighed by ANGER at the tretment PPC users are receiving. Unfortunately, only a MASS EXODUS of customers would ever change this. Seems to me that Sprint is slowly picking away at the services we receive on our 'unlimited' data plans so we won't use as much data. At some point, even the low price won't be worth the CRAPPY treatment and limited usefullness of Sprints data plan.

Its their way of 'fixing' their pricing without actually increasing rates. What use is 'unlimited' data when all we can get is internet access? no IM, no MMS, no TV. When Sprint figures a way to disable 3rd paty IM and TV, you can bet they will.

40-50 bucks a month for REAL unlimited data from other carriers starts to look attractive when it includes SMS, MMS and TV.

The only way Sprint will ever do anything to stop this disregard for PPC users will be a hit in the wallet, i.e. LOSING MARKET SHARE. Imagine 40,000 PPC users dropping their accounts and moving to another carrier?
