Success!!
I called the first rep, no luck. then i called again and the 2nd Rep. success (almost). I told her i was fed up with their billing issues they cause on my account (and I am). and I said i would cancel,
and i asked "is there anything you can do for me to not leave?" and she offer me 1000 Min for $50 and free unlimited Data for 2 of my phones, and added all 4 lines under that account which gave me an addtional 100 Mins more than what i was getting with all the lines. My bill is usually about $200, and it suppose to go down to like $90 including taxes for all that....and if i'm "eligible" (since my bill has not closed yet and i have to wait until Jan. 24 to find out) then they will put me on the SERO Plan. So just by saying i'm canceling, you get some goodies, and if you are "elegible" then go with the SERO Plan, Unlimited Data and a bunch of minutes. So i'm waiting.... IF ANY CS GIVE A A HARD TIME, JUST SAY I WILL CALL BACK LATER AND DECIDE IF I AM GOING TO CANCEL. THEN CALL AGAIN AND KEEP TRYING UNTIL YOU GET SOMEONE MORE GRACIOUS WHO WILL GIVE YOU THE DEAL YOU WANT. GO SERO!. Peace |

After several calls to Sprint customer service, including talking to supervisors, I was told that the contract is violated only when the changes "ADVERSELY" affect me. IN other words, I will have to wait for my first bill after 1/1/08 and then compare that with the previous bills. Then, only if there were any Sprint surcharges which resulted in an increase in the bill, was I eligible for getting my ETF waived.
Persistence led me to write to them, and here is the written response I got from Sprint ecare. Need help. As of now I do want to stay with Sprint, and just want to change to the SERO plan. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated, esp if you could also PM me with the same.... " Please allow me to explain once again. The change in contract term is effective from January 01, 2008. Thus, the change in charges due to these changes will reflect on the next invoice. Since the changes will be effective from January 01, 2008, I request you to wait till you receive your next invoice. If there is an increase in charges on next invoice, we will apply the credit and will cancel the services without any early termination fee. Thank you again for contacting us. XXXX X. Well I have a pretty crazy story to add to this which isnt really on topic but somewhat related
Me and my girlfriend recently had a problem with Sprint regarding our plans ending and money we were supposed to get towards phone upgrades. So long story short we went to the store, they gave us the run-around so we came back home and we were both pissed. I went to take a nap but my girl was fuming and decided to call Sprint. After a few hours on the phone with different reps & supervisors my my gf comes and wakes me up and tells me to come downstairs and tell the man which phone Id like (I chose the Samsung IP-830W, my gf the Rumor by LG) End of the story, I wound up getting 2 free phones AND over $200+ towards my phone bill (I had a $180 balance and all of a sudden I had $20 something dollar over credit!!!) thanx for the reply, i just checked it out and it does effect me. my contract goes up 45 cents each month and they said i have until the end of the month to opt out of my contract. they offered me 5% off my bill to stay with sprint and i told them i would think it over, doesnt really seem like a very good incentive. its like 4 bucks a month :-\
not that i really plan on quitting, but i thought they would give me something better than that lol. |

because they have also lowered some fees, and depending on your plan, the subtracted fees might outweigh the added ones. at least thats now the dude in retentions explained it to me. hope that helps. |
