New to Droid, coming from WM.

Well, I took the plunge. I'm coming off the Imagio because of my total frustration with the memory leak/performance of the stock ROM.

I'm so far loving the device, but I have some questions:

1) There seems to be no file manager. How do I go about moving media around in folders and whatnot? Must this all be done while the phone is connected to a PC?

2) Is there any way to assign contact SMS ringtones?

3) Is there any way to enable haptic feedback on the software keyboard? Can't find an option for this.

4) I loved the weather widget on the Imagio, what is the best weather widget (animated preferably) for the Droid?

5) just had a ringtone sent to me via MMS, is there no way to save it to the phone? This is puzzling me.

4) LevelUp has the Sense (Imagio) clock/weather widget in the marketplace. This one is animated, but it doesn't do the "flip" animation. The weather is the only thing that animates when you click on it.

5) Not sure about this. Try long pressing the file and seeing if an option to save it comes up. I haven't tried saving anything from an mms yet, though. Also, it should technically already be saved on your phone, so you might also be able to find it with the file manager.

The one issue is still the ringtones. I just purchased a ringtone I wanted from the Verizon site, and they sent it right to my Droid. All i can do is click play on the file, there's no way to save it? That seems, well, totally ridiculous.

I just spent money on the file.

Nope. It's sitting in an SMS thread in the Messaging program.

Okay, long press the file and save it to your SD card. It should put it in your music folder on your SD card. From here you are presented with two options.

1) You can now go into your music player and you should be able to find the sound file there. Long press the song and select "use as phone ringtone".

2) Using your newly downloaded astro file manager, create a "media" folder, and then inside that folder create an "audio" folder. Now create two folders in here named "notifications" and "ringtones". Following this you should be able to select it as a ringtone from your settings. The second option is slightly more complicated, but still gets the job done. I should probably add that you will need to save the audio file into the ringtone or notification folder. :P

Long pressing the file does absolutely nothing . It's just displayed in a message with a big play button on it, and in the thread view it shows as a message with something attached. There's no way to long press it.

Nevermind! I figured it out! You don't long press the big play button, you long press the highlighted thingy on the side. It was throwing me off, because the ringtone wasn't named, instead it was a string of numbers, so I didn't recognize that as the file. Duhhhhh. Thanks so much for the help again, sorry for the confusion.

I love this phone, but it's definitely got some learning curve it seems, especially if you're used to WinMo.
