Yeah not sure what exactly made it start working for me either because during the troubleshooting process I followed the steps outlined here:

I added one step though. After installing the CAB for the fix Mike304 created and doing the reg fix per his instructions, I also went into mms options via outlook and modified the server address to reflect this string:

http://mms.vtext.com/servlets/mms?X-VZW-MDN=yourphonenumber

The other fields should read:

Server name: Verizon Wireless
Gateway: [blank]
Port number: 80
Connect via: The Internet
Send limit: 1195k
WAP Version: 2.0

Of course a soft reset should be done to reload the hive you modified in Mike304's instructions but that's all I did and now it works. In fairness to NRG, I didn't attempt to 'compose messages first and attach the photos afterwards' until after I made these mods so I'm not sure what would have worked and quite frankly, I don't feel like flashing again to test it. Maybe someone could test this before making any changes.

UPDATE: MMS works in this ROM without any mods as long as you compose your message first and then insert your media. MMS'ing from within an album will continue to fail. I had another issue that caused me to wipe the phone and start from the freshly installed ROM so I tested it. NRG was right on the money!

I am looking for a thread or comments that tell the difference between the Maxmanilla and cookie version. I have loaded the March 17 Maxmanilla version and it is nice, I would like to know what the cookies add, per the newest with Maxmanilla and cookies.

weird. i tried that fix but i didnt do both things as u stated above. Well after applying all your above tweaks mms seems to be working just fine now... whew!

I'm having quite a few problems with the 3/20 build - I'm running the 23549.Sense2.5_with_Cookie_HomeTab. I had to add the username/password on the data connection as said above. Memory is getting used up with just minor use. Right now I have 39,684k free out of 179,756 with nothing running - on a fresh reboot I have 66,120k free. The home tab clock is locking up often and I had the title bar disappear after getting a notification this afternoon. FYI - the Youtube app did work.

I'm going back to the 3/17 build for now.

Yeah I guess I could use a phone that has data on it.. the one I have, while it works okay, is not activated.. therefore I cant really test the data capabilities. Wes... if you're reading this, anyway we could activate this phone temporarily ? :/

I recently flashed the Mar 17th version of this rom (I LOVE IT) and had only ONE major problem, no data connection. After lots of tinkering I fixed it. I'm not sure if it was the last step that fixed it, or the combination of all three but this is what I did.

1. Start -> Tools -> Carrier Provisioning -> Verizon Wireless (this did not fix it)
2. Settings(the one from the home page) -> Wireless Controls-> Phone (Change phone settings) -> Band (scroll to the bottom) -> WCDMA/Auto (Did not work)
3. Settings -> Wireless Controls -> Data Connection -> Automagically configure (did not work)
4. Dialed #777 (Female voice said unable to)
5. Success. (Somehow it works.)


Unrelated, I have my contacts linked to facebook so it shows their birthday and under "all people" it shows their contact photo [linked from facebook]. However, when these contacts call me, the contact photo comes up blank on the phone screen. Anyone know how to fix this?

edit: "this" = when people call me, their facebook contact photo (which is linked to their contact info) shows up on the screen?

Just flashed Energy.IMAGIO.23549.Sense2.5_with_MaxManila.Mar.20 and all seems to work so far. I got MMS working by going into connection settings and it says sprint, but I selected the advanced tab chose Verizon Wireless and then done. sent a test mms went out just fine, had the wife send me one back and received it fine. I hope this helps you all. I have not added any cabs other than Swype v3.9, to used to this layout, love it better than v2.0.
