help! can't unlock vogue

i know that Horn said to wait ten seconds according to Codybears FAQs to reconnect the usb but it wouldnt work for me to wait. I had to pull it out and reconnect it right away. It disconnected from ActiveSync but i think thats what its suppose to do because then i hit any key like it said and it worked. i unlocked two different Vogues like that. if that doesnt work for you then getting ahold of CodyBear or one of the other ROM Cookers to help see what may be happening.

So you disconnect it when it sends your phone to the bootloader or before then? at what point exactly do you disconnect the usb? do you also disable the usb connection on the pc? also do you mean you hit a key on the phone?

it will pull up a DOS style screen telling you what to do. When it tells you to unplug the usb and plug it back in and press any key to continue, be sure to unplug it quick and plug it back in quick and when you do this it will disconnect you from ActiveSync but this is ok. just follow the rest of the directions the DOS screen is telling you and it will finish unlocking your phone. the disconnecting part it tells you to do is the hardest part but just be quick about it.

See, THIS is what's not coming up, that DOS screen. I know exactly what you're talking about from when I did it before. I'm guessing because I'm on Vista it doesn't come up, and thus why I'm having all these problems. Damn...... anyone know how to do it on Vista? I hate to reformat just so I can do this =/

that must be it.. im sorry i dont think that i saw you say that you were on Vista. I think you are going to need to contact someone like Codybear too see bout the processes with Vista to use this unlocker. Its that or see bout using a pc without Vista ( friend, family members )

I unlocked my vogue on my vista computer without any special directions..
the dos screen came up, followed the directions exactly as they were stated on the
screen and I was unlocked and ready to go.

keep trying, but I don't think vista is your culprit.. trying a different computer still is
not a bad idea, it might work..

I would also suggest downloading the unlocker again. I've solved issues like this because it turned out my files were corrupted.
How are you running the unlocker. You can run it as an executable or unzip it and just run the ruu. I just ran the ruu after unpacking the files. Good luck.

Weird... I'm running the 2.31 gps cokeman unlocker and no dos screen comes up at all for me, just the standard Rom Update Utility process. I completely remember the DOS instructions, but they are not appearing for me now. So strange!

Yeah, I think if I cannot get it soon I will PM him for help. So frustrating because I did this once before! and also with a Mogul

I am extracting the files and then running the RUU from the folder it unpacks. I'll try downloading again, I have run into corrupt files in the past. Weirdest part for me is I can't even get the Official HTC Rom downloaded from htc.com to work right. Same thing, after reboot to bootloader it does not recognize the phone.


Appreciate everyone's help, will let you know how it goes
