Yeah, you can get replacement cables. I suggest Seidio online. They have lots of great stuff.

any ideas why it doesnt see the usb connection after it reboots to bootloader?

When it gets to that point have you tried disconnecting the cable and reconnecting it. Maybe wait ten seconds before reconnecting. Dunno really. I'm just guessing. Have you read through codybear's faq? Maybe shoot him a pm. He prolly would know.

yeah, and it actually says uSB on the device, but the computer doesn't recognize it, and the progress bar just times out =/

Are you putting the phone in boot loader before you start the unlock from the pc?
I had the same problem so I just ran the unlocker from the regular winmo OS. It put the phone in boot load for me and ran all the way through.
As for sd cards, you can't unlock from the card I think. It does have to be 2GB or less and formatted to fat32. I use the original 512 card that came with the phone to flash. Works like a charm.

Which unlocker are you referring to with the regular winmo OS? Do you have a link? I'm willing to try anything at this point! It's when the bootloader comes up that my pc won't recognize the phone.

I used Coke's 2.31 unlocker for GPS. Only thing I did different was run it from the pc while on my today screen. All the faqs I read said put the phone in boot loader then run the unlocker. That's where I ran into the same problem you have.

Ah, the same one I'm using. I'll try what you say and put the phone in boot loader manually before I run the unlocker. I didn't think the computer would recognize it but worth giving it a shot.
