Please help! - Run firmware update from microsd?

Hello,

I tried one of the firmware updates and it is stuck on the splash screen. I've hard booted, reset my phone etc but it keeps coming back to the sprint logo - can't get to the next screen. My computer won't recognize the phone so I can't rerun the firmware update from the computer

Can someone please help me to update the firmware from the microsd card? I know I saw it one of these forums a while back but I can't seem to find it.

If you are trying to get your computer to recognize the device from the boot screen, that isn't going to happen.

Try pressing and holding power and camera button while using the stylus to reset, this will load the boot loader and your computer should recognize it from there to do the flash from the PC.

To do a flash from the SD card your SD card needs to be formated to Fat32, and the usigned.nbh has to be renamed to VOGUIMG.NBH, then you would do the same proceedure as above to enter bootloader mode, the device will detect the image file and ask you to press a certain button(don't remember which one I think action button) to flash.

Formatted microSD on my computer as FAT32
Copied VOGUIMG.NBH file to the drive
Inserted the drive
Pressed power and camera on my phone while using the stylus to reset
Comes up as Serial even though no cable is plugged in
I pressed every button on the phone and it wouldn't try to run the update from the SD.

I did however use it to run the update from my computer when I plugged in the USB.

use a smaller sd card i use 1gig

probably a dumb question,but did you make sure u put the VOGUIMG.NBH into the ROOT of the storage card?

jamezelle - valid question. I just formatted the drive as FAT32 so it didn't have any subdirectories so I put it at the root.

So you started with a VOGUIMG.NBH file and managed to run it as an update via USB? How? I would like to do that with an NBH file I have that only contains the 3.42.50 radio, but when I rename that to RRU_signed.nbh and put it in an install package, it gives me an error saying that this update is not for my phone.

All I did was run the updater. I think you want to probably start a new thread for your question as I'm no expert on firmware updates and I might be giving you advice that would bad
