Re: tethering warning
Allegedly it does. I'm not sure if any other companies have taken this approach yet so as far as I've heard noone has been hit with charges using pdanet. I'm going to try a tether on the weekend and keep an eye on my bill for theat cycle and see what happens.

using wmwifirouter should protect you as well, at least theoretically.

Re: tethering warning
OK, so after talking with a Telus rep for about 20 minutes, this is what I learned:
1 - Tethering was included with the unlimited data plan, but not supposed to be mentioned. 2 - Telus decided to discontinue the 'tethering is included' due to abuse. 3 - I had on my account a retro-active (to start of current contract) 1 year of tethering free. And that message was essentially to say say that my 1 year free was up. 4 - Because the dealer did say that tethering was part of my plan, I have been given 75min of LD/month for free (for the remainder of my contract), that I used to pay $10/month for. 5 - I was wrong about tethering being excluded from unlimited data, but eventually I was right. 6 - I like the apple cinnamon pop-tarts |

Re: tethering warning
OK, we're in a Vogue thread ... bluetooth but no WiFi ... the global.wmwifirouter.com website doesn't mention BT ... has anyone tried it?

It sounds to be like Telus was just informing you of contract/service changes and not necessarily of them catching you 'abusing' tethering. Am I mistaken? |

Re: tethering warning
If people believe regedits can be considered warez because they defraud a phone company from otherwise charging you then I don't know man. That's just retarded.
Custom roms should be considered warez too because you have bypass security provisions put in place my phone manufacturers. Who wants to buy their next product when their current one can be hacked to bits and made to work just as good? Sounds like defrauding the makers of the headsets to me. You can't argue that you didn't know they limited you to whatever it was that they did because you did have a period of time to try it which upon then you would have agreed to whatever it is they have given you. *yawn* retarded if you ask me. *goes back to sleep* |
