Re: have we reached the end of the line?

I first got the mogul and switched to the touch. Mogul has better screen than crappy viewing angle sprint touch, but was slower phone. Also a lot bulkier, probably 40%-50% larger. The extra compactness and speed of the touch was way worth it. With touchpal, the lack of a hard keyboard isn't that bad. The thinless alllowed for the phone to rest comfortably in jean pocket with a case on.

I then felt the TP in stores, it's as bulky as the mogul. This was deal killer for me. Not sure while any one would prefer this over the touch.

Ya iv noticed that with the Sprint touch. My buddys had 2 of them and the screen turns all cloudy at an angle. I thought it was just his phone the first time but then the 2nd one was the same way. between me and my wife we've had 5 Alltel Vogues and the screen has been crystal clear on all of them. I wonder if Sprint uses an anti-glare digitizer or something?? Cause Im almost positive the screen is exactly the same.

The only real benifit I see is the awesome looking VGA screen. So I think Ill skip this step of the HTC eveloution and wait for the ''next'' latest and greatest.

I just warrantied my vogue this week and got a brand spankin new one (not refurb) So Id say it'll hold out till the next release.
Interesting... I was wondering if some of the new phones still have the bad screens...

Do you remember the old threads where we had the goal to find whether or not we had the "good" screen? ALL of the VZW Touch's had the good screen, but only about 25% of the Sprint ones had the screen.

I returned mine and showed the pictures to the Sprint reps, and they said they wanted to make me happy, so they pulled out 8 boxes of Touchs, and said they would open them all until they found one with the perfect viewing angle.

Magically, the first box they opened had the perfect angle. It's literally 180 degrees both horizontal and vertical. It's beautiful... It's actually a better screen than what I had on my Pro, in terms of color, contrast, and brightness, but only QVGA

Sprint once again cheaped out, and their version had a cheaper screen. I got lucky, but I know they (the good screens,) are rare...

Re: have we reached the end of the line?

I agree with yearn, the next next step seems to be worth waiting for as neither the tp or diamond seem to be a big enough leap to drop so much cash for. I can only think of one more thing that I would like to see on my vogue, but I'm not saying it, too many people throw hissy-fits.

Yeah, that FEwidgets is pretty sweet, the only thing that I see as being cool to have on our phones soon is a FULLY operational android ROM, but that's about it.

Ha ha! your talkin aboutt 3D huh! I bet iv read 30 threads with people back and forth on this. "it just needs drivers!" "No! it dosent have the right hardware!" bla bla bla! I would say "IF"" its possible, the people who coulda figured it out have done lost interest and went to the Diamond or Pro. oh well.
