Re: Tried to use insurance to get a new phone...failed?

yea, that' pretty dumb, but then again they never should have started swapping phones for the white &or dark spots to begin with. the spot (white spot on my mogul's) has never really bothered me that much.

Wait, then what does ESRP cover? Is there something that explains the Sept 8 change?!?

Yep, that's why I don't use the "insurance" - it covers nothing, it seems. Or, put another way, its going to cost me $100 to replace the phone, and then I can also choose to give sprint an extra $7/mo too because I'm nice like that

Yeah, I think I may replace it through Asurion, because then when the Touch Pro comes out I can sell my Touch for a lot more on eBay since it'll be in perfect condition. I'm eligible for the upgrade right now, so I might as well use it for the Touch Pro.

Re: Tried to use insurance to get a new phone...failed?

Mine was virtually new and my niece (who was visiting) happened to get ahold of it for less than five minutes ... result: the d-pad was was missing for about fifteen minutes and when I found it, I taped it back into place.

I walked in handed them the phone with the d-pad taped into position, didn't offer an explanation and asked them if this could be fixed. They looked up my account and in 45 minutes, I had a refurb.

Of course before I went in I did go back to stock.

Best regards,
-boggsie

Sprint has really been cracking down on their repair centers. We really have to duplicate the problem to be able to swap it out. Its been pretty tough tellin people that pay $7 a month that they have to pay $99-$119 to replace their phone because they broke the screen, housing, etc..

then what are we paying the insurance for? i have 5 phones on my accout that i pay $7/month on each ($420/year). will assurian still replace a lost or dropped or stomped on or thrown out the window or thrown against the wall because your wife is a jerk phone??

1. Remove main battery
2. Place hand towel in microwave
3. Place HTC Touch face down on towel
4.Turn microwave on for 2 seconds
5. Replace battery and verify dead unit
6. Return

Insurance fraud like this is what is causing our insurance to be $7 a month to begin with.
