Re: Tried to use insurance to get a new phone...failed?

your best bet is probably to call in to Asurion and pay the $50 and get a replacement. It wont ship active so your phone will work until the new one arrives.

Starting Sept 8, 08, physical damage is no longer covered under the ESRP insurance. Actually, Sprint has never covered physical damage, the repair centers have just been able to do it. It was costing Sprint about 30 mill a year to replace those problems.

Sprint has really been cracking down on their repair centers. We really have to duplicate the problem to be able to swap it out. Its been pretty tough tellin people that pay $7 a month that they have to pay $99-$119 to replace their phone because they broke the screen, housing, etc..

Wait, then what does ESRP cover? Is there something that explains the Sept 8 change?!?

Yep, that's why I don't use the "insurance" - it covers nothing, it seems. Or, put another way, its going to cost me $100 to replace the phone, and then I can also choose to give sprint an extra $7/mo too because I'm nice like that

Re: Tried to use insurance to get a new phone...failed?

Mine was virtually new and my niece (who was visiting) happened to get ahold of it for less than five minutes ... result: the d-pad was was missing for about fifteen minutes and when I found it, I taped it back into place.

I walked in handed them the phone with the d-pad taped into position, didn't offer an explanation and asked them if this could be fixed. They looked up my account and in 45 minutes, I had a refurb.

Of course before I went in I did go back to stock.

Best regards,
-boggsie
