Re: Looking for a good GPS app...
so i could search for, say, pizza- and it would give me all the places in my area like live search? all of these programs have some type of POI's, but they still don't let you search for a specific place. you have to preset the POI's- atleast on igo- in which case i still need a seperate program to look up an address, then copy/paste it into the search. any other ideas?

Re: Looking for a good GPS app...
TomTom 7 allows you to type in a name when doing a POI search.
Still don't know why you'd actually LOOK for a Pizza Hut though...Greasy tasteless crust....but that's for another post. |

Re: Looking for a good GPS app...
i know you guys probably thought of this but google maps does a really great job for me aside from sprint nav which i think is awesome i just type in the name and it finds everything around my location every time i look for something i turn on the use gps and my location in the options menu and everything is at your fingertips it works as a gps as well since itll make a route that u can follow on the map.

Re: Looking for a good GPS app...
why not just use live search. like jethro said, it is what it is.... i got a setup:
when i'm tryin to find my way to my contacts: tomtom 7 when i'm tryin to have a fancy long distance mapped route somewhere specific: igo8 when i need immediate POI info: live search traffic info: google maps or tomtom7
