Looking for a good GPS app...

well, i donwloaded igo8... looks great on my touch, but the problem i'm having is that i want a program that gives me all the features of igo8 (spoken directions, 3d maps, etc.) but is easier to find things like windows live search does. for example, in live search you can do a search for pizza or even more specific pizza hut and it gives you all the options in the area. igo8 is a pain to use in this respect as there's no way to look up things without an actual address. if live search can do this, there's got to be another program that can do both of these combined apps. i know there's a ton of apps out there, but i'm not gonna pay for them just to see if they have what i need... at 4 bux a gallon i can't afford to be wrong about the next one lol. so whats your recommendation? thanks for all your help.

so i could search for, say, pizza- and it would give me all the places in my area like live search? all of these programs have some type of POI's, but they still don't let you search for a specific place. you have to preset the POI's- atleast on igo- in which case i still need a seperate program to look up an address, then copy/paste it into the search. any other ideas?

i went out on a limb and decided to get destinator 7... i'm definitely not disappointed so far. doesn't have all the 3d buildings that igo8 has, atleast not as far as i can tell, but that seems to be the only thing i've noticed that igo has that des7 doesn't. finding POI's was easy... almost as easy as live search. anything else you guys want to know?

Re: Looking for a good GPS app...

GPS software are for navigation not a search engine. Live search is what it says it is.

Re: Looking for a good GPS app...

TomTom 7 allows you to type in a name when doing a POI search.
Still don't know why you'd actually LOOK for a Pizza Hut though...Greasy tasteless crust....but that's for another post.

Re: Looking for a good GPS app...

i know you guys probably thought of this but google maps does a really great job for me aside from sprint nav which i think is awesome i just type in the name and it finds everything around my location every time i look for something i turn on the use gps and my location in the options menu and everything is at your fingertips it works as a gps as well since itll make a route that u can follow on the map.
