Re: Exchange server/ push mail not syncing consistantly?

For push mail, your phone sends a PING command to the exchange server every minute to keep the connection alive...The phone is supposed to include your username & password in every request it sends, be it a sync, mail download OR ping command.. However sometimes it will just try to use the ping command for hours (without username & password), so the server will ignore it and not push new mails to you... The only fix I have found so far is to change your exchange server password on the touch...save it...change it back to the correct one and save...This will give you at least another day of syncing... For now I dare to say this is a bug with the Active Sync version in Windows Mobile 6.1...but I wouldn't put money on it. |

Re: Exchange server/ push mail not syncing consistantly?
Thanks for you reply.
It's working fine for me right at the moment, I just sent a few test messages to myself and they showed up immediately. Seems that once I did the manual check this morning it's good again? Like I said it's very random but I would like to say it happens more over night then anything but I have seen this happen at all hours of the day. I just switched from a Mogul that was running 6.1 about 2 weeks ago and I never had this issue with it? |

Re: Exchange server/ push mail not syncing consistantly?
Unfortunately I don't have a Mogul to test it with...I am only monitoring the exchange server itself and can see the Touch is clearly not sending username & password along whenever the sync's fail...there will be no error displayed either (on the phone)...it does appear random to me as well (sometimes it will work fine for days then it will stop twice within a short time).
Most definitely the problem is somewhere with ActiveSync. Do you still have your Mogul? If so, would you be able to try and copy the ActiveSync.exe from the Mogul to the touch and see if you get the same behavior? Last edited by Magicality; 07-20-2008 at 05:36 PM. |

Re: Exchange server/ push mail not syncing consistantly?
A little off topic but is there a significant difference in battery savings by syncing every 10 or 15 minutes rather than using Direct Push?
Sorry I couldn't contribute more. |

I am having this problem as well, I currently use Mail2web and even after manually doing a send/receive i am not having my email pushed to me.

Re: Exchange server/ push mail not syncing consistantly?
I have never had this issue and I am running a Vogue (and previously a Titan) with MS Exchange 2003. Here's what I can tell you for sure, which may or may not be why I do not have issues:
1. I am the IT Manager at my office. 2. I am the Administrator for our Exchange server. 3. Our Exchange server is fully patched with all available Service Packs and hot fixes. 4. Our Exchange server is a dedicated server. That said, I reiterate that I have never seen this issue. Furthermore, I have not seen anyone else at my company (25+ WM users with a combination of Moto Q9c, Samsung Ace, Titan, and Vogue) have the same issue. I am running the leaked rom as well. On my Titan I was running no2chem's 5067k from the kitchen. I wish I had a solid answer for you...

Re: Exchange server/ push mail not syncing consistantly?
OK, if you are having the same problem I am, then it is on their end. I have been having a problem with syncing with mail2web for the past week or so. I was sure it was my phone and I had done a few hard resets. I even sent them an e-mail and they blamed my phone, but simple fact is if multiple people are having problems, then it is on their end. I am paying them 5 bucks a month, but since I had problems again today, I am switching to someone else.I'd gladly pay more if it worked. Now I only have to decide who to use.
